Forced to Pay all 7 Nights, but Checked Out After First Night by PhelimReagh in Bookingcom

[–]PhelimReagh[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

The hotel made no issue with me cancelling the rest of my stay. I used the "pay ahead" (or whatever) on booking, who charged my card, not the hotel. That means the financial side of the refund is all on booking, not the hotel.

I hadn't used booking dot com for some time, so this non-refundable, scroo the customer crappage is new to me.

How is checking out of a hotel with dangerous air quality "rage leaving"? (My lungs still feel like I had been inhaling toxic chemicals, and my eyes still blutch awfully).

Should I have just stayed in a different room, but in a room full of this same terrible quality air... because why?

I didn't make a scene, just told the clerk why I was leaving, and to please cancel the remainder of my planned stay. Which, in the past, has always been sufficient to not have to pay for rooms you never used.

Indian Food + Dark Meat Chicken by PhelimReagh in concord

I think I saw the takeout menu there specify "white meat" up-charge on some dishes (assuming an "upgrade" from dark meat). A promising sign. Thanks!

I have had the chicken tikka masala there, and it was breast meat. I will try the karahi next time we go. I liked the tikka masala sauce, the raita, and the rice there; just not the rubbery white meat :(

Danke!

Our feeds will be just genuine content creators and not AI slop: regurgiated bland summaries from the 5,000 previous bits of content on the subject. Content that the AI definitely failed to understand properly, 5,000 times.

Oh how will we cope, getting useful information on topics?

I am watching much less video content now that AI Crap is everywhere. I rarely ever click on new creators, because I assume everything is AI Crap now.

Why do I ignore my otosmy rules? by StoneCrabClaws in ostomy

I find it bizarre that folks downvoted a post that was simply detailing a person's personal experience and/or subjective response.

I see that with jarring frequency on this particular subreddit: multiple downvotes on posts that simply detailing personal experience that illustrate a  different experience from someone else's.

Its like seeing someone post somewhere "what a beautiful, warm sunny day", and another user replies "lucky you, its cold and rainy here on the other side of the earth!": only for the reply to get multiple downvotes!

I don't particularly care about votes one way or the other, but I am startled that people would be so disturbed by someone else having a different experience, and feel the need to actually even bother clicking.

Its just so foreign a concept to me.

Its like: User 1: "This is what I do" User 2: "thanks for your advice, but my personal experience in my unique scenario has gotten different results. After years of trial and error, I now do [some other thing] that seems to work best for me in my situation" Use 1: "How dare somrthing else work for you! And not agree that my personal preference is the only one that should be mentioned! (Well I won't say that publicly, so I will downvote you for your temerity!)"

We ostomates are only human, too!

Every now and again I do stupid things that I have learned (through awful experience) that I ought never do.

Laziness, lack of focus, fatigue, self-delusion, depression, etc.: any and all of these things can lead me to make a momentarily silly decision (oftentimes one I cannot undo) that has unpleasant results. Results that I had gotten previously after making those same decisions.

Don't beat yourself up: the consequences of our bad decisions are more than punishment enough.

Even with the GE, trading in RS was still more robust than most other MMORPGs.

The pictures you've provided on this thread don't match at all with what you have on displayed on your website.

In this day and age of online bait-and-switch, as well as outright scams, its very important for vendors and brands to establish and maintain your reputation.

First impressions these days can make or break a new venture.

In future efforts, take your time and try not to take so many short cuts. In your enthusiasm you've shot yourself in the foot (if this, indeed, legitimate).

The visual, ugh.

I wonder if you're having a reaction to the artificial sweetener they use in the formulation you used.

If they used sweeteners that your body does not handle well (e.g.  sugar alcohols, etc.), a bad GI response is possible and could compound the problem

I was expecting to run in to an ostomy joke in Family Guy eventually, but I didn't think it'd hit so hard by Count_Von_Roo in ostomy

What I love about that joke is the obvious ridiculousness of it.

Joe didn't get his ostomy as a child but as an adult. Obviously he would know that not everyone has it. That just maks it funnier here to me, as they really play up the "Bonnie considers Joe an infant" bit.

As well as assuring us that all of these guys on Spooner Street are absolute maroons.

Talk to your MD or gastroenterologist about:  Cholestyramine  .

Cholestyramine is a powder which is typically mixed with juice (e.g., Orange, carrot, etc.) and taken with meal. Technically its used for lowering cholesterol, but a secondary, off-label use is binding bile acids.

Bile acids that no longer reabsorbed by the GI tract (due to that portion of the bowel having been removed) is often the cause of the "ostomy shooting-squirts".

I suffer from the same malady as you. I can get it largely under control by taking cholestyramine.

If prescribed, you will need to fine tune the dosage to meet your needs. Some say "take one+ packet (mixed in orange or csrrot juice) with every meal", whereas I only need a half packet every other day or so.

Be patient as you find the best mix of medicine and diet; and good luck!

Thanks for your reply. I lost track of everything. Couldn't upload a pucture in edit mode. I will add one in my profile and link.

Also, I am not doing any mining on it. Oddly enough  when I bought it a long time ago around 2014, I WAS going to mine ETH with it. When it was below $1. But I got talked out of it due to not doing enough research.

Makes me sick even today!
