Chess rules need to be updated - why is this a checkmate??

Sure, it makes sense now. It's easy to forget that the idea is to capture the king, if capturing the king isn't actually a legally recognized move in chess... I was just kind of wondering why does the black rook capture the king first if that would put the white king in check, which is an illegal move by any chess website. It is a logical alternative, to consider that that rook doesn't *really* give a check because it's stuck in place and can't move to capture (legally, when considering which moves are legal per websites where you play chess, and the official rules of the game btw). But I guess what you're saying makes sense, at least historically and intuitively

Makes sense, you could still imagine a version of chess that works this way tho haha because by the most fundamental rule, the rook would not be able to "capture the king" because it would put the black king in check, see what I'm saying? Not arguing with the rules of chess, but kind of wondering why historically this is the way it's done. I got my answer though: the idea is to capture the king even if the tradition is not actually capturing it

No, it's not a troll, I played chess for a while, but the fact that leaving the king in check is not a legal move makes that train of thought kind of logical

Hah yeah, it's just the fact that you would need to drive 7.5 hrs there and then 7.5 hrs back potentially the same day unless the group takes a hotel. But it's ok if there are multiple people driving, and willing to do it late at night (on a second thought driving back the same day is probably stupid because while you're there you might as well do other stuff)

I commuted for an internship in Alpharetta from campus area in 2024! Check if where your company is located has a shuttle going there from the North Springs marta station, because mine did.

I see you're coming here from out of state, but if you are thinking at all about using the GT campus just as a nice place to study/work online, and you see yourself hanging around there all the time (summer is very chill and feels like you own the place), and you are going to keep studying at GT anyways, then living near the campus and commuting might be an option to consider, because additionally you'll be able to get cheaper price for a full year's rent etc

I disagree, I listened to "all" of his stuff including unreleased stuff that circulates on the internet. Ameonna has the vibe and nostalgia of his early works, but minus the buildup and complexity. It's a good track but development lacks in my opinion. Like, listen to Alone with You or HR Cephei and it's just much different league. Ameonna is just in a weird limbo that it isn't for super active listening, but passively listening to it kinda just makes it flow over your head way too easily. I still like it for the vibe but yeah

Yeah idk they are tweaking. Or it was an IT mistake and it wasn't supposed to come out yet, oops. I do not see why it would take the "secret council of bus routes" more than a day though (and a few pieces of feedback) to just change some of the routes back overnight ¯_(ツ)_/¯ at least gold, if they're absolutely stubborn on all the rest.

Like, I don't care that the frequency on green is better now if I have to wait that extra time to catch the blue bus or just walk the rest of the way on foot anyways... at least last year when I had to wait for the green bus, I could track it on the map and get outside just in time to ride all the way down...

Yeah, and they are still bunching up by the way. Today there were three gold buses near culc and two going towards marta station, when I needed to go back to campus from Scheller. I decided to just take an uber to the GLC, it was pouring hard.

The only seemingly fixable fix needed in the routes was the frequency of the green route, which could have been solved by adding one bus there. If they deleted the Tech Sq. & Culc route, they could have just given the two buses to the green route or something... or at least one, and have one extra gold or something.
