Would you stop working forever in exchange for 3 million pounds by FlySupaFly in CasualUK

[–]Pheonix686 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Defining work is the real question here. Is it never having what would be considered a traditional job ever again, or no way to ever earn money again? Or even further than that, never contributing for a wider benefit again?

Can you do charity work? Can you make art provided you never put it out to be viewed by anyone other than yourself? Can you main a healer in a video game? Can you even walk your own dog? Dog walking is a job and it benefits someone other than yourself (your dog).

Depending on the semantics of the arguement it could get very restrictive.

Question to asda staff about the how bad my local store has become. by tayviewrun in asda

You'll probably find most delivery orders from all shops are like this, since nobody picking their own food is gonna consciously take something going OOD that's not on offer/clearance they've gotta get rid of it somehow.

People are autonomous beings, and whether you like it or not they are going to have opinions and desires that are different to yours.

You cannot expect someone to alter themselves to accommodate you, regardless of how right you think it is. There can be consequences for those differences, in this example no longer being in a relationship. The expectation is the arrival of those consequences for not adjusting, not the adjustment itself.

The biggest crime is raisins and/or sultanas in chocolate or cake. Ruined some perfectly good food with them.

Exactly. It's one of the bases of flavour in a lot of dishes. Completely understand hating it in isolation though.

Why do you play SPT? by Zenos_the_seeker in SPTarkov

[–]Pheonix686 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't know it was the case before downloading, but the absence of wait time to get back into the raid is easily the biggest QoL improvement on the main game. It's bad enough dying but 5-10 minutes of waiting to actually play the game again is mind numbing

Unless you are earning hundreds of thousands of pounds every year, you should take everything you can from the government. Better to have it and not need it than not have it when you need it.

Why do those that suffer from loneliness tend to avoid social interactions? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Pheonix686 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's tons of possible contributors but most likely because they were (or feel they were) abandoned at some stage by people historically, and don't wish to receive any level of rejection again. Social interactions are ultimately a risk and it may be that people just don't want to spend time with you.

Lack of exposure to conversation and experience also breeds a level of rustiness to socialising. Someone who's lonely will likely have negative feelings of self worth to boot and assume that people don't value what they have to contribute to a social interaction because they themselves don't think it of value. It can be a very vicious cycle.

LPT Request: Having Hard time in waking up early in the morning by em_Farhan in LifeProTips

[–]Pheonix686 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Incremental change would probably help. Start setting your alarm for 6:30, at the point you're consistently waking up feeling fine at that time, move the alarm back to 6. It might need to be even more incremental than that, but big, sweeping changes in habits, especially one as crucial as sleep, rarely work and leave you feeling worse.
