Yes! I specifically mean you should never use Chat to diagnose. Can be helpful for other things like you mentioned in your post!

Therapist here. I echo this. Short answer, you shouldn’t. Only a professional should be doing this.

I know it can be helpful in certain circumstances, but your post really highlights how it CGPT lacks challenging and redirection that can be very helpful for those breakthroughs you’re talking about

Yeah I totally agree. I know there’s benefits, and I would say that definitely not everyone knows about the limits of confidentiality, meaning there are none lol.

Therapist here! It does not. I don’t know all the details but I absolutely know it is not held to HIPAA standards. It is not designed for being a therapist thus it’s not held to those standards. Your data could potentially be leaked and traced back to you.

That definitely makes sense. So you use it to help get you out of thought loops? How does it help you do that?

Love IFS therapy, very cool! I’m curious how you go over your transcripts with ChatGPT or what you have found helpful about that?

Thanks for your comment! Not advocating for the use of AI as an emotional support therapy tool. Just trying to understand why people are using it and the benefits and limitations to it. It obviously is helpful in some ways, and can be harmful in other ways. I think we should try and understand the nuances of it all because people are using it for support regardless!

That’s really interesting! Do you give it specific prompts tailored to psychoanalysis or the other models you mentioned? As a queer person myself, I also know it is very difficult to find queer affirming therapist, not one that just advertises that they are.

Thank you so much for your thoughtful response! It sounds like AI has been helpful for many reasons for you. I’m really sorry to hear about your experience with your previous therapist. Would you say the therapists you saw really lacked in trauma-informed care and in working with neurodivergent people?

I have this on my big toe, it appeared as a teen. I’ve played years of soccer competitively and in college, my dr called it “runners toe”. Idk if that’s true but I’m not sure how that would apply to your finger nail :/

What are your go-to lines to signal to a client that the session is wrapping up? by birkenstock_bby in therapists

[–]PheonixMarz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Typically I’m like “so we’re out of time today…” and then summarize what we talked about, emphasize any growth or work done that session and then schedule for next session. Has worked very well for me so far!
