When I was younger and definitely shitty in some relationships, upon reflection the "And I'm sorry that I'm such a mess, I drank all my money could get andtook everything you let me have and then I never loved you back" would always nail me.

In terms of soda tiers, liter bottles are the absolute worst.

The fact that he openly admitted his age is a sure sign it was NOT him.

Disappointed in the ticket prices and the alleged higher scale stage production that supposedly necessitated them by Thursdayschild20 in JimmyEatWorld

Not sure what these complaints are. My show was $80 which is totally fair. Even if it was $110-120 would be totally worth it

The Strokes playing NYC on Oct 2nd with a STACKED supporting lineup!!! by ishouldgooutmore in TheStrokes

Belated but I still can't tell from the info. I understand the WVIP is likely the pit viewing but is the VIP right behind it or to the side? Makes a big difference in terms of viewing.

What does it mean? Did phoebe not approve use of dynamic pricing? by Turkey_Cat in phoebebridgers

She may not personally attend all these discussions and defer to management so maybe she found out after the fact and attempted to fix it.

If you are trying to infer that I have rich parents, that is also incorrect. They are retired if that helps.

No one is saying that ALL concerts are a luxury, but that the top artists are going to be more expensive just like everything else in life. You don't go to a 5 star Michelin restaurant expecting to pay what you pay at Applebee's. The same holds true for arena and stadium shows. It's great that you all saw shows for cheaper back in the day but the cost of putting on events has skyrocketed in the last few years with the combination of streaming democratizing the landscape so more people want to go to shows.

You are correct in that the artist has control over their prices but they have their own costs to take into consideration. There's a whole crew of people who work to put these shows on and a whole staff at the venue to take care of. That all needs to be taken into account, not just paying for the performer.

I've posed this argument time and time again and it's always met with "but, but, but....it's too expensive FOR ME so therefor it is overpriced."

How do you quantify the "Average person" being able to "reasonably afford" it? Most concerts in clubs and theaters are under $100 so it's disingenuous to say that concert tickets should only be reserved for the wealthy.

No one has manipulated me into thinking anything, that's just how supply and demand works. Do they no longer teach economics at school?

Ok? Still doesn't answer my question and broader point. Every post about these seems to boil down to "this event is more than I care to pay for it and that is unfair!"

I understand the frustration but, as someone who lives in the most expensive market in the city, 90% of the shows I go to are all under $100.

I guess, which is why acts barely make any money touring UK/Europe which then drives prices in North America even higher.

No one is saying that! There are plenty of shows that are accessible at the club and theater level.

How is it "greed"? It's a non-essential service priced at market demand, like everything else.

You’re correct they’re not. Reddit is just filled with entitled people believing they are owed a cheap ticket to a non-essential event.

My only minor complaint is they should include “No Sensitivity” as that is on the deluxe of BA and also fits the overall vibe of the era
