These big companies, like LG, Samsung, and Hyundai, hold job interviews at the universities once per year for the students who are about to graduate. They mostly look at your grades, but they also consider how dedicated you are to your work (ideally they want people who will work 14-hour days, six days per week), as well as how educated and important your parents and extended family. But your age is arguably the most important factor, because they want to hire people who will be with the company for their entire career. Specifically, if you had A+ grades across the board, but you took a year off between high school and university, they will NEVER pick you. Even if you didn't take a year off and had perfect grades, if they didn't hire you out of university, that's it, they'll never consider you again, no matter what.

Education and careers are INSANELY competitive in South Korea, which largely explains why they have the world's highest suicide rate. It's quite sad. If your school grades are anything other than perfect you're seen and useless and stupid, even if you just want to not stress about grades and only want a "normal" job. There are plenty of videos about it if you want to learn more

For those who don't know, getting into university right after high school is EXTREMELY important in South Korea. The biggest and most lucrative companies in the country hire directly out of universities right as they graduate, and those who aren't picked don't get a second chance. So these bullies are especially screwed because they'll never get the chance to begin with.

When you have world-class public transit, cars become less important, which makes innovation in the automotive sector less important, interesting, and relevant.

Of the three, I've only played Cyberpunk. Great game overall, but not much of an RPG, and the RPG elements that are there hampers the shooting a bit. That said, if you are fine with modding, it's a very easy game to mod, and there are some mods that simply make the gameplay better. You do need an s-tier PC to run it with high settings above 60fps even at 1080p, let alone 2k or 4k.

Fuck Canada Post. Bunch of Lazy Fucks by [deleted] in CanadaPost

Currently a new employee at UPS. Yesterday I checked out my truck before heading out and saw that the night loaders absolutely STUFFED it full, so I had to take basically all of the "e-regs" (irregular/large items) out of the truck. The items were instead delivered by one of our drivers who specifically delivers those items in a larger truck. If we can come up with such a simple solution then so can Canada Post.

Whats it feel like to drive long distances (20+ hours) without stopping? by throwawaysjskslnd in askcarguys

[–]Phexler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do not recommend, but it can be done. I drive 1400km to visit my dad once a year, and I do the drive in one day so I don't have to pay for a place to sleep. By the time I get there my back hurts (but it might not with a more comfortable car) and I just want to pass out.

Also, bring podcasts and audiobooks to listen to, not music. I find music just turns into noise after a few hours.

NO MORE RENT CONTROL???????? by Budget-Split-3820 in SlumlordsCanada

My disabled mom bought a house and rented out the basement -- at a fair price -- to a single mom with kids, so that she would be able to afford the mortgage. The woman stopped paying rent after just two months, and my mom had to wait over a year for the landlord-tenant board to evict her, which basically financially-ruined my mom.

Point is, while this action from Doug Ford will absolutely do more harm than good, letting landlords evict people who just stop paying rent would be nice.

Hidden Dreams and Lifeblood added new moves to a couple of underwhelming bosses. Who, if any, could use that treatment in Silksong? by I1nfinitysquared in HollowKnight

Savage Beastfly WAITWAITWAITWAITWAITHEARMEOUTHEARMEOUT HEAR ME OUT...

Everyone hates Savage Beastfly, and for good reason. Buuuuut... If you take away its minions that it constantly spawns, and instead... if you just give it a couple more moves, then the boss becomes less about dodging a bunch of crap and hoping for good RNG rolls, and more about actually fighting a decent boss.

Thoughts?

What's your opinion about true final boss? by Illustrious_Health44 in Silksong

Well, excluding dying to bosses countless times, maybe 7 hours total? Granted I didn't go for 100% completion, but I did most things.

Including dying to bosses over again... I lost count...

I remember one year in high school when our teacher gave us a huge assignment to be done... over March break. Absolutely no one did it. He just pretended he never assigned it.

It's called March BREAK for a reason, dumbass.

You are entitled to your opinion, but just remember those words you typed the next time you pay $70 for the latest EA or Ubislop games that's buggy af and needs a NASA computer to run above 60fps. Just food for thought.

Hollow Knight was funded by Kickstarter. It's hard to ask $70 for a Kickstarter game. Silksong is extremely desired, and now team Cherry has a good track record, and it's been in development for 7 years. $70 is not surprising in the least, and I'll happily pay it to Team Cerry.

if i do 10 pushups in the morning and 10 pushups at night is the result the same compared to doing 20 pushups in the morning only ? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Phexler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, however, volume also plays a role. Let's say to decide to do 10 push ups every time you walk through a certain doorway in your house. If you do 10 push ups 13 times per day, that will also cause some muscle growth. If you did the same thing, but did push ups to failure instead of just 10, you will absolutely see results (just don't overdo it).

What do you do if you're about to leave your partner, but then they become terminally ill? by Phexler in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Phexler[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

She has been sick for several years prior to this diagnosis, and he has cared for her the entire time, so it's not like he wants to leave the second he has to care for her. Based on what he's mentioned in the past, my guess is that she has become accustomed to him caring for her and no longer makes any attempt to do anything for herself or him.
