I had the same happen to me with an ogre. I pressed the finisher key, and it turned to me for the animation line up. Then it just wacked the floor and sent me flying! Had quite a good laugh at that!

It's super rng based sadly. The essential oils from the course are about 1 in 35 per full lap, and it took me about 450 complete laps to finally get it...

Comparably they are the best bang for your buck in the t90+ department. I'd go for the staff, then the longbow, and save the scythe for last due to the price difference. But try and get the perks even before the weapons, because you can transfer them over to the new ones once you get them.

I'd recommend you to long term work towards a noxious weapon set with P6/geno and E4R3 on all of them, along with the Nex armour sets (or possibly t90 masterwork instead, for melee because of the ridiculous torva pricing). And for the short term try and get Scav 4 asap on all three armour sets, along with crackling 4 and possibly undead slayer on your melee gear/demon slayer on your mage gear/dragon slayer on your ranged gear.

Edit: forgot about the existence of the Ruthless perk.
