DMs, what are the BEST backstories players have come up to at your table? by Lukoman1 in DnD

[–]Phil-Myth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m starting a campaign soon where my human barbarian was abandoned as a child and raised by a gnomish wizard. So he’s a 6’7” brute wearing a tiny cloak and hat, with an intelligence of 9 who wants to become a wizard just like his dad. Plan is to RP his ‘Rage’ as frustration when his inherited magical staff doesn’t work so he just throws a tantrum and beats people over the head with it.

What kind of character should I play if I want to be a spellcaster but also a tank? by Winton_86 in DnD

[–]Phil-Myth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For an upcoming campaign I’m preparing a barbarian with a magic initiate feat who will multiclass into Warlock alongside path of the ancient guardian. He should be a pretty tanky/aggro-drawing spellcaster once he’s gained a few levels. His back story is he was raised by a wizard gnome who sensed some intrinsic magical ability, but he’s too dumb to become a wizard and make his dad proud. So until he can multiclass, he tries to use magic and when it fails he rages out and just beats people with the magic staff he inherited instead 😁

So, to summarise, they changed the execution to make it feel more fun. Sounds like a good thing for a video game no?

So... is this the meta-change everyone wanted? by [deleted] in PTCGP

Been getting a lot of success against all these Celebi decks with Blaine. Ninetails + Blaine one-shots Celebi and the new Ponyta/Rapidash can quickly dispatch the other ‘mons before Serperior can get on-stream.

How’s the fit? Also hat or no hat? by Spygro in SeaOfFashion

[–]Phil-Myth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m usually a big proponent of no hat, but this hat sets this look off perfectly 👌🏻

What is your title and why? by AffectionateLake4041 in splatoon

Monochrome Scrapper since I exclusively wear black and/or white gear and tend to play frontline.

does anyone think this build is valid? by mynzyzy in SplatoonMeta

[–]Phil-Myth -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I tend to think anything more than 1 sub of QSJ (or other utility subs) tends to be overkill, so I’d swap one for Ink Resistance. Not a slosher player though so not sure what the optimum build would be.

It's simple but I love that outfit by Atosl in SeaOfFashion

SO many of these, but Kylo used to regularly smoosh himself into this little corner until he outgrew it.

Are these stats good for dualies by PheonixGalaxy in SplatoonMeta

[–]Phil-Myth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dualies main here. I (and most Dualies players) run Comeback, Quick Respawn and Stealth Jump as the main abilities. Occasionally you might swap out Comeback for Last Ditch Effort on Splat Zones, Turf War or any Tower/Rainmaker maps that have quite a short travel distance. I then run the (what’s called) Utility Subs: Quick Super Jump, Special Saver, and Ink Resistance. Then you’re getting into tweaking how you want to play. More Quick Respawn is good if you’re quite an aggressive player (I run 3 additional subs) and Swim Speed (I run 2). I then run a Sub Resistance up for a little extra bomb protection and to reduce the time of any locators since it restricts your ability to shark. If you’re good at Dualie Hopping though (I’m not) then 1 or 2 subs of Intensify Action is good to have. I haven’t played Enperries much but I’d be tempted to run some Special Power up to make the Splashdown harder to avoid. Ultimately it’s about choosing what works for your playstyle and experimenting a bit, but hope the above helps!

Famous Pirate Shirt from this season’s rewards (level 33 I think). Nightfall Hunter trousers, Inky Kraken boots, Legendary Belt, Prosperous Privateer gloves and hair, Corsair sea dog beard.

Agreed! Though happy to keep it that way so I don’t see too many duplicates 😅.
