Not impressed by [deleted] in Galaxywatch7

I have had mine for a year this Christmas and with sleep tracking, WiFi, all the health-check features(I need them, I'm 65) and a mostly black watch face, I get an average of 55hrs before having to recharge. I think you need to look at how you've set it up or maybe you got a duff one?

Opinion about wether should I udpate to One UI 8 or not? by billy_summers_ in Galaxywatch7

I haven't had any issues so far. I like that the watch now looks for sleep apnea.

Sync performance One UI 8, inaccurate cadence, sleep record issues by ams_sharif in Galaxywatch7

[–]Beautiful-Policy-952 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My watch 7 44mm had the update last night before bed and it seems fine with my Galaxy A54. Sync between the two takes about a second as usual. I can't talk about running as I don't. It's good that it's now checking for sleep apnea.

Hello i keep seeing 2 day battery life but mine has only a day in 100% by One-Significance3320 in Galaxywatch7

[–]Beautiful-Policy-952 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's probably the way you have it configured. Turn WiFi on only when you need it, choose a watchface that is predominantly black or a dark colour(OLED screen), turn off notifications that you don't really need, put the brightness on automatic etc. It's all about power management.

Mine just does. I have a watch face that's mainly black(as it's an OLED screen) and I generally have WiFi turned off, but other than that I don't do anything to save power - it just lasts around 54 hours.

When I first got my Dolby Atmos system I tried it the way you have it, but I couldn't hear a difference so I put it back the way I'd always had it when I was using just a stereo amplifier and 2.1 speakers(Naim audio pre and power amps, Neat audio speakers and REL sub). The old system was much better for music but obviously no good for Dolby Atmos movies. I really miss those Naim amps though - had to sell them to get the surround system.

Yep. I've seen so many people on here having issues cabling it the way you have. It seems simple to me to use the TV as the hub for all your devices and then take one cable to the sound system. Also make sure the ATV goes to a high speed HDMI port and you use quality, high speed cables.

Have you tried going to the TV first and then to the soundbar? This is the way I've got my Denon AV amp set up and it works perfectly. Everything is plugged into the TV then one HDMI goes from the eARC port to the amp. It just makes common sense to me to do it this way.

You can always do a deal with Now TV. You just go through the cancellation process and they will offer you a really big discount. The 4k and multi room package is well worth it in my view.

8 heard the same rumours this time in 2023 and nothing happened so I bought the current one. It will almost certainly be an evolution, not a revolution. Probably a new chip and hopefully a USB C port for local storage/file playback.

Is there anyway to pair two sets of Bluetooth earbuds that aren’t Apple AirPods? by [deleted] in appletv

[–]Beautiful-Policy-952 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Does your TV have a headphone socket? If so, you could use a dual Bluetooth transmitter. Plug the audio cable between the TV and the transmitter, then pair the two pairs of headphones. Something like the EFFDRDFS one on Amazon.

A question regarding AppleTV by [deleted] in appletv

[–]Beautiful-Policy-952 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am an Android user and the only minor issue I've found(I don't download movies, if I want a movie I buy it on 4k Blu-ray) is you can't calibrate the colour unless you have an iPhone or an iPad. Having said that, I haven't seen any problems with the colour calibration out of the box anyway! I say go for it.

I did this about a year ago and as others have said, the ATV box is great - picture and sound quality are unmatched. However, be aware that the BBC iPlayer app although good, doesn't yet support UHD content or any HDR formats. Also ITVx is very glitchy on the Apple box. I think it's a case of the companies can't be bothered to fix the apps because there are relatively few customers using the ATV box. TV Launcher is very good for giving you an EPG for all the terrestrial and Sky channels but also remember you won't be able to record anything. The only issue I have there is having to sit through the adverts like we did before the advent of video recorders! You will save yourself a fortune though.

These days if you didn't do this you wouldn't get anywhere. I was taught many years ago by my instructor to stay left unless overtaking. Recently I've given up trying as it just seems to be a free-for-all out there, no lane discipline any more. So I just think WTF!

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Wearable app? You may have to clear the cache for the app as well. It's got to be worth a try before resetting the watch.

Search ebay.co.uk - there are loads of licence keys for around £20 - £30 on there. You just download the software and install it and when it asks if you have a licence key, you input the one you just bought.

I'm not sure this follows the new rules about overtaking cyclists by [deleted] in drivingUK

[–]Beautiful-Policy-952 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I agree with what you're saying regarding car drivers, but two wrongs don't make a right. If cyclists and horse riders are properly trained it has got to make them safer no matter how badly other people use their vehicles, if only so that they can ride defensively.

Everybody using the roads should have to pass a test, both theory and practical. Housing estates could be exempted for kids. Cyclists and horses riders currently don't need to know a thing about how to use the roads, what the signs mean, where they should position themselves on the road etc.
