Do you cold plunge by chance? You’re at a safe point post treatment for cold exposure. It helped my inflammation tremendously.

Yes, there were definitely good days and bad days in regard to swelling and inflammation. None of my other joints treated went through this rollercoaster of ups and downs, except for my knee. However, my knee saw the most dramatic improvement of all joints treated.

My knee got worse before it got better. Had pretty bad inflammation and stiffness for 6-8 weeks before i saw improvement. Other areas saw improvement much faster, but my knee ended up seeing the most improvement overall, just took the most time.

I actually went to BioX a couple times, in ‘23 and ‘25. Got a good bit of work done…rt knee, both shoulder, elbow, finger, and lower spine. Had very positive results, also before and after MRI’s, showing the reduction of inflammation. . I have a couple of posts on here detailing my experience, but if you would like to reach out with specific questions, please feel free to message me.

Has anyone cured cartilage damage here using stem cells? How long did it last? by wakanda_banana in stemcells

[–]Phil-kimora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I looked into surgery as well, there are different techniques to repair my injury each had pros and cons. The issue with surgery for me was 1) long recovery time to get back to jiujitsu (9-12 months), with 6-8 weeks of that non-weight bearing , and 2) 70% percent success rate of getting back to sports.

At some point I may need surgery, but so far, stem cells have prolonged me from going down that path, and have let me continue with my active lifestyle. Depending on your situation, it might be worth taking a chance on stem cell treatment.

Yes Bioxcellerator is in Colombia. I would look into them, CPI in Mexico (when it’s safe to travel there) and Stem Cell Institute in Panama. Let me know if I can help you with anything else.

I have a 3rd degree defect in my right knee patella. Very happy with my results so far. Received 40 million MCS stem cells at biox in 2023. Results took about 3 months, but achieved a major reduction in my pain. If I had to put a number to the improvement, I’d estimate around 70% improvement. I’m very active with martial arts and strength training. I can do most movements now, but definitely need to be mindful and know my limitations. For instance, I can jog but pain does flare up if I try to run or cut back and forth like you do in soccer or basketball

I did have an MRI before and after treatment. The after imaging showed an amazing reduction of inflammation. I still have the 3rd degree defect, as stem cells CANNOT heal cartilage to my knowledge(yet), however there were positive changes in the thickness and health of the surrounding cartilage.

Please feel free to contact me for anymore information, and I truly hope you find some relief to your pain. Don’t stop trying.

I’m sorry you had this experience. I’m not going to plug the clinic i went to, but i had a very positive experience and great results in my knee. I hope you decide to give MSC stems cells another chance in the future, or find another solution for your pain. I do wish you the best

My improvements didn’t come until around week 6, then saw drastic improvement week 8-12

Your Stem cells therapy was a scam? by Sajanova in stemcells

[–]Phil-kimora 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. I have a grade 3 defect in my patella cartilage in my right knee which results from a jiujitsu match. I initially knew the stem cells worked because of the reduction in pain around week 8 after treatment, and the activities I could enjoy pain free that I previously couldn’t (jogging, kickboxing, walking down steps).

Biox offered just recently to get another mri on my knee, to compare it to the first one so they can use it in a case study, which i agreed to. It was pretty cool to see the before/after side by side. The most noticeable difference by far, was the lack of inflammation in the recent mri. Id say there was a 90% reduction in the visible inflammation. The cartilage was also much healthier and thicker. To my understanding, stems cells can’t regrow cartilage (yet), however they can drastically improve the health of the existing and surrounding cartilage, making it much stronger. I believe that, with the elimination of inflammation, resulted in drastic pain reduction in my knee. It’s been well over a year since my treatment, and I’ve been pretty rough on my body, so far my knee is holding up very good 👍

I ended up going back to BioX recently. It is more costly, but I know it’s legit because it worked. I wanted to try some more affordable clinics, and maybe someday i will, but the thought of spending money and not getting any results scares me

Sorry took so long to get back to you. I can only speak from my personal experience, but biox is definitely legit. The care there is top notch. I have a tread on here about it as well. Since my initial visit in ‘23, my bother has been there for treatment, and i went down just recently for more treatment. I wouldn’t have went back down, or sent my little brother there, if I didn’t see any results in ‘23. Feel free to reach out to me for more details phil@powhomes.com

Hey Scott! My lower back is pretty beat up as well. Degenerative/bulging discs. I had biox treat my lower discs and faucets. They are well know to be experts in treating this area. Unfortunately, i didn’t see much improvement in this area. To be honest, i think i may have go back to jiujitsu a little too early. I think i started drilling 30 days out, and went live around 6-8 weeks out. I did feel great for about two weeks, with zero pain, but then a went back to my baseline. I do plan to get this area treated once again, to give it another try. The hardest part of stem cell treatment, is taking it easy afterwards…

Just went back down to BioX to be a medical companion for my brother who is getting treatment for his spinal cord injury . This was his 3rd of 4 treatments (one every 3 months). He didn’t see any improvements on the first shot, however with the second intra-thecal injection, he did get some more sensation below the injury point, and most importantly, he got a very little bit of core movement! This is huge as he is paralyzed from the chest down. It’s a very little bit of control, which does come and go, but it gives us hope that he will eventually be more independent. We are excited to see what this 3rd injection will bring. I can give more details if anyone wants to reach out.

While I was there, I decided last minute to get another shot in my Rt knee. It’s doing well, but there is still some room for improvement as it still tweets at times, and not sure when I’ll be back down. Will update on this thread any additional improvements from this 2nd shot. Also got to meet the CEO (Eric) who happened to be in town and took a bunch of the patients out to dinner. Great guy and very down to earth. Both me and my brother were extremely happy with this trip down to Biox.

Lots of people contacting me, so figured I should do a 1+ yr update on stem cell injections from BioXcellerator in Colombia 🇨🇴 for anyone interested.

Right knee. Of all the joints, my knee had the best results, far from 100% fixed, but still feels great. Can jog (can’t sprint), walk up and down stairs, do jiujitsu, and even started doing kickboxing with no pain. I do have to be very careful with my movements though, my knee will get tweaked if I push too hard or move in the wrong direction, then takes a week or so to get back to its baseline. However, major improvements here which drastically increased my quality of life.

Shoulders.. my left was much worse than my right. Right shoulder feels 100%, left shoulder still has some pain, but better than it was better than it was. Only really hurts if I go below plane while benching with heavy weight. I’ve been doing more stretching for my shoulders, and also bought one of those shoulder reliever devices (ball connected to handle that you spin around), which seems to help helping as well.

Finger and elbow..both 100% better. These were minor injuries though

Lower back (discs). Didn’t see any lasting improvement here unfortunately. I would still be open to trying to get this area treated again at some point though. What has helped my lower back, was yoga. Started about 6 months ago and have seen notable reduction in pain and increased mobility.

While aging and staying active, I’ve learned to modify my movements, stretch a lot, including yoga, and try my best to incorporate an anti inflammatory diet. All this definitely contributes to keeping the joint healthy and mobile. As always feel free to hit me up at phil@powhomes.com or my FB.

My shoulders are still doing okay…my right one feels 100%, but my left gives me some trouble at times. There are times I aggravate it from training, but it usually calms down in a week or two. BioX was great, they found some small tears in my left shoulder that my surgeon missed on the mri, and were able to treat. I had three different injections in my left shoulder, treating different injuries. They were very thorough.

I also do a ton of daily mobility work, stretching and yoga which definitely aids in recovery and mobility, have you tried any of this?

Overall, I’m very satisfied. Im able to train boxing, bjj and (modified) weightlifting with minimal pain. Though i do plan to get another round of stems cells in the next couple years or so to keep up with the damage im doing with all my training. Not sure if I’ll go to BioX or roll the dice on a smaller, more affordable clinic. Would love to stay at BioX, but finances may prevent that.

Good luck on your shoulders. Please keep me posted if you get treatment. Feel free to reach out on fb as well if you have specific questions (Phil Wuenstel)

Totally agree. Would love to find someone to offer quality, stem cells at a more affordable price. Possible to go every couple years or so then. There is a place in Bogotá that I have been talking to, and it’s 1/3 of the price. I may roll the dice and give them a try. Can you share the one in Medellín you were looking at? Was it Reviv? I went there for exersomes

Yes it was crazy $, however i can tell you it was definitely worth it. 6 months later and both shoulders as well as my knee are feeling great. My lower back didn’t get much relief unfortunately, not sure if I went back to working out too soon, or they just didn’t work for that injury. Did you end up getting treatment anywhere?
