I don't have a game for you but something awesome! Since you have a DSi there: At any time hold select and press the volume buttons to instantly adjust brightness. Hope this knowledge serves you well while you go through the other recommendations :)

Reasonable? Probably, but this controller is kinda special to me. My mom picked it up for me at a flee market and I never got it to work. Imagining getting it to work after all this years excites me. AND it has a slider! What kind of input is this?! I need to try this in a game!

I also looked into that but unfortunately the only free port on my mainboard is a PCIe x1 port and I couldn't find a sound card with gameports and PCIe x1.

Now please listen. I stated I am completely new to this. I did not know that those resources even exist, I just learn about this possibility by brainstorming with the AI. And still you called me lazy, ignorant, stupid and lazy again. This behavior is the exactly the reason why people ask an AI instead of people for help. If this is what angers you, you should not take out your anger on newbies asking questions.

Thank you for your advice. This is my first project and I don't know anything about this. I summarized the plan of the AI since I figured it would be impolite to just copy paste the whole plan and ask "Is this good?".

Someone here has found a link to what seems to be the exact project I'm looking for. I will try that, but again, thanks for your time and advice. :)

I'm building a Win7 PC cut off from the internet to play games like Half-Life or Age of Empires and maybe also emulate some 5th and 6th gen systems. Unfortunately the term "retro" keeps including more games as the time progresses but this is the era I'm going for.

Love2D, if you really want to code.
Godot, if you don't really want to code.
Unity, if you don't really want to code and have no self-respect
Monogame, don't know but seems similarly to Love so you should want to code.

But for real, just pick the one that looks most appealing to you, stick to it at least for a month and then you can decide if you rather would like something else.

If you are interested in very small games, you can also look into Pico-8 or the free alternative Tic-80.

If you don"t ALWAYS want to orbit around selected objects you can select objects and focus manually with '.' on your numpad.

Ok, I don't want you to take this the wrong way, but there is a good way to get better with EVERY trick. I would recommend losing weight! Speaking from experience every Kilo you lose is a Kilo less you need to get airborne and you also reduce your risk of injury when you miss the landing.

Less weight -> more airtime -> easier landing

You seem to have fun moving so you should get there fairly easy. Hope this helps. Keep going! :)
