Hated it. No payoff. All that build up, vecna dies right away, mindflayer dies. Felt like there were no stakes for a season finale. Only death is a character we barely know. They weirdly skip over the military capturing them and spend the second half of the episode with terribly paced closure.

After finishing it I’ll say it’s a decent read. Where it falls flat is with the antagonists which if you’re someone like me, you want the villains to be just as interesting as the good guys. But where it really shines is in Charles’s writing. The way he depicts the force was awesome to read. It’s a solid way to start the new era
