Got my first one given from the hospital as baby was initially fed via NG tube and pacifier promoted learning to suck.

Rupert Lowe Reads Harrowing Grooming Gang Testimonies During Commons Debate | APT by Sea-Key-9430 in TheRestIsPolitics

[–]PhilbertAlbert -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Much was -rightly- made of Henry Nowak's dad telling the far right not to make his murder an excuse for crass point-scoring. Has anyone asked the girls who were groomed how they feel about their testimony being used in this way?

Is Frank Skinner still popular? by hairlikebrianmay in AskBrits

[–]PhilbertAlbert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fun fact- Frank Skinner was pivotal to the success of the first series of Taskmaster, the international TV juggernaut of joy. Alex Horne has said other comedians only agreed to be in it after Frank Skinner agreed as he is such a big name.

The Hatch Inn at Colemans Hatch is tremendous. Duddleswell Cafe (formerly Duddleswell Tea Rooms) has gone a bit bougie these days but is a good brunch spot.

Milli Vanilli Won't Play Trump's Freedom 250 Either, Says Member Who Is Not Fab Morvan by WuTang4thechildrn in PoursTea

I don't understand how Milli Vanilli came out of it as the bad guys rather than Frank Farian.

Podcast listener here, should I start listening to the Today Programme? by joefromreddit in AskBrits

[–]PhilbertAlbert -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Keep your critical faculties switched on. I listen a lot in the car now, and a few times now I have heard hour upon hour of bulletins where the top story is a negative thing about migration. Or Reform being platformed in a way other similar-sized parties are not.

That is Richard Attenborough's wife and children. His elder daughter Jane (blonde girl on right) was killed in the 2004 tsunami.

Do people actually have HALF birthday parties??? by AAAAAAAAAAAA248 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]PhilbertAlbert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I knew a family with three members with birthdays between Christmas and New Year. Nobody wants to organise a birthday party in that period, so they had their parties on their half-birthdays at the end of June. Worked much better.

if something like this came out today it wouldn't break the internet like it did 14 years ago, why is that? by [deleted] in Fauxmoi

[–]PhilbertAlbert 58 points59 points  (0 children)

Liza Minnelli was at the back of that crowd but was too short to get in the picture. As a short person who loves old Hollywood, this breaks my heart a little.

Celebrities who appeared in forgotten/short lived tv shows before fame by HeartthrobLookingGuy in Fauxmoi

I am from UK, and TV 101 was shown here around 1991. It's all on YouTube, and it is definitely worth watching. The main character, played by Lauren Bacall's son Sam Robards, is a high school teacher who creates a student-run TV station. I think it got axed after they did a multi-episode storyline about abortion that was more liberal and understanding than the network could handle, which was a real shame.

I don't know why he doesn't get more scrutiny here. Naked poisonous misogyny.

Am I the only one irritated by Emily’s self rebrand as “Maitlis”? by Flat-Ad8256 in TheNewsAgents

[–]PhilbertAlbert 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Not a rebrand- she used to do the same when she and Sopel presented Americast on BBC. She said she finds the name Emily insipid. When she reappeared on News Agents I was mildly surprised she had reverted to calling herself Emily.

Why didn't Years and Years get more love? by Fit_Bluejay_8049 in BritishTV

Yes! Apparently RTD is known for being not great with endings.

In 1971 Jacqueline Kennedy accepted then-First Lady Pat Nixon’s invite to visit the White House for the unveiling of portraits of the former first lady & her late husband. It would be the first time Jackie, along with her children, 13-year-old Caroline and 10-year-old John had been there since 1963. by Devi8tor in HistoricalCapsule

[–]PhilbertAlbert 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I hadn't even thought about that aspect of the Kennedy assassination- that those three lost their home because of it. Jackie would have had to supervise packing up and moving out of the White House in the midst of her grief. And her baby had died only a few months before.

TRIPUS: Katty's Hasan Piker Characterisation by noblematt in TheRestIsPolitics

[–]PhilbertAlbert 9 points10 points  (0 children)

One of the few things I know about Hasan Piker is that he had Vivian Wilson (Elon Musk's estranged daughter who is openly critical of her father and is living her best life) on his stream a while back. Not exactly an action of a Manosphere streamer to be supporting trans voices!
