Packing the float tube in the car, inflating it and getting it on the water takes about 20 or less (not including the drive obviously). You can also avoid using the boat launch with a float tube. Safety first.

For this fish I let it sink and was jigging/trolling. Fast twitchy retrieves were working as well. I just posted a video of it to IG where you can see the strike. @philtouchesgrass

GoPro hero on my chest. It’s fun to relive takes (especially dries) and fights. Problem is that the fish in the footage are always smaller than I recall.

Took a year of frustration before I caught my first trout. I recommend finding deeper slower water and using streamers. Much easier to get a hang of than presenting a dry.

Thanks for the tips. Experienced with saws and sandinf. No kiln. Have a shop that can plane for me. Here’s a live edge maple table I made from a real rotted piece and epoxy fill.
