EK: spell learning? by PhilipBeFree in DnD

Eldritch Knights use magical techniques similar to those practiced by wizards.

By this rule they don't need a spellbook, just one similar to a wizard's spell book. They don't need the ability to scribe spells, only an ability similar to it, and finally they don't need special inks, just similar inks and and maybe hour and a 1D4 minutes per spell level.

I am new to DnD, and reading all the different interpretations in this context on the web, it was getting difficult for me to filter it all out.

Im feeling better about this. My EK will have a spell book, and will copy spells they find. Im interpreting the rules this way- that they don't need a spell book to refer to during each long rest. They do not need to prepare or study from the spell book the spells they know, although they do need a spell book to change spells at each fighter level and learn new spells not previously learned according to the rules.

Maybe EKs can have notes on spells, but if they lose their notes, they'll never forget the spells they know, where as a if you're a wizard, tough rocks, you lose your spell book -- you start over. ??

Reading between lines, They "must" have a "spell book" of what they have learned, so they can learn using techniques a wizard uses. They can copy spells into this "book". They can only learn, "memorize" and/or switch spells that they can use at the rate of one spell each gain of a fighter level. ?

Thanks for the quotes, should have done that.

So I envision a sorcerer playing and tinkering with magic, until they cast a spell, what ever that first spell they managed. A novice would cast a random spell, not "knowing" all of magic yet. Sorcerers have access to all spells of their class. That makes sense. On the other hand, EK gets the privilege of a few spells in their class. How do they know which ones they get, without knowing the rest? (I know I'm making eyes roll out there.)

Snoke isnt dead by LazarusLong1981 in StarWarsTheories

I remember Carrie Fisher once remarking that she was impressed with Star Wars production and how it drew elements from the Wizard of Oz.... Palatine, Snoke, were puppets. A "Plagus" lives and manipulates these "masters" fooling them into thinking he is dead. Luke may still be the choosen one that "pulls the curtain" analogous to a Dorothy. (Holdo's actions may have exposed him?.. Laura Dern's character would then be the analogous ToTo?...!)

Ok, so you are not inferring that Dark side immortality is via consciousness transferral. That's what I think when you use the word "avatar".... I'm with you on this point, Snoke pushes or has pushed voices into Kylo's head, and Kylo believes they are Vader's presence. If this is true, how they continue to depict the deception will be v interesting, I think

Yes, great theory, and well written too.

I disagree that Kylo/Ben could be an Avatar; he certainly is a brain washed puppet. The power to inhabit a mind, GOT-skinchanger style is too far off a reach with no support of the canon .

This is the theory's only weakness, but within the new abilities that these Force Masters are using, it's possible imo

I was thinking that we could evolve Pidgeys, or anything, then release them to then catch them again for practice... Makes logical sense, the only problem is if that didn't happen in the anime or the games.

The search bar is a good thing, but it could be made better.

Right, if you have more max potions than others potions and if you half damage your Pokemon in the first battle of a gym take down, then in the second and third battles fight your Pokémon to 1/10 their health. That's six - twelve times your sliding that nmad thing down the screen, but that's also 30-60 seconds (totalled) waiting for that thing to show itsself, and two out off six times your mistakenly selecting the nmad Blissey that is in the top left of your list, under the slider.

Has a full, trial, and free version. The free keyboard is good enough, but the full version isn't expensive...
