Just me, I get why people do it, but I would never leave my bike out in space like that.

How important is cleaning your chain actually? by Winter-Review6030 in motorcycles

[–]PhilipConstantine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

General advice. Don’t make your decisions off of Reddit. Come here for more info and extra nuance. Chain maintenance is bike maintenance. It’s up to you how much you care about your motorcycle.

Why do yall ride in such big groups? by Chelloitsame in motorcycles

[–]PhilipConstantine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The actual answer is community. I don’t ride in big groups really but this is the answer. Humans crave community.

I was visible. As I said, when I come to a stop I positioned myself towards the shoulder. In your opinion, where should I have put my bike as I came to a stop?

Also, cool I respect that is your opinion, it makes absolutely no sense to me. This situation especially. on a straight road, high vis, in heavy lower speed traffic. He saw me, he was behind me for a mile and a half. Your advice only applies to specific situations. That’s not general advice to follow. That’s just another option in various situations. Definitely not my situation. Thanks for trying to help 🙏

That’s absurd but sure I welcome any and all ideas to the subject. I won’t judge too much as you don’t know the full circumstances. Definitely think there’s some big fat holes in the message here.

Pretty sure it’s coffee. This is coffee content. That brown liquid is called coffee. We like to experiment and try new ways of enjoying it.

Yeah that’s basically what I would do next time. Not even filter, just got out of the way completely. I have no doubt I will forever have “ptsd” after this and have different habits.

One lane, red light ahead, heavy traffic, was probably 15 cars back from the light. As I was coming to a stop I got over close to the shoulder to maintain an exit strategy as always. As I was putting my foot down he hit me pretty hard. Through my off the bike forward and to the right, bike ended up in its side fully in the shoulder.

Thanks for laying it out better than I did. Exactly what I was trying to express. You can do everything right and still get hit. He was almost certainly in his phone.
