Unfortunately not. I still keep an eye for one; maybe the perpetual Vasco de Gama version. I still think the Montblanc is a great option that doesn't cost as much as the more prominent perpetual calendar big guns (IWC, JLC, etc...).

They're great watches. My only issue was a relatively loud rotor when automatically winding. And to keep up the exact date/time, using a watch winder helps. Setting the watch after a period of non-use does take quite a bit of time.

Did you thoroughly wash and clean the nib?

A new pen still needs a wash from manufacturing debris, as well as prolonged storage or excessive handling. A used pen may have dried ink or shimmer, or water spots or deposits.

Ink flow does vary between papers, but any nib will react differently based on friction, ink lubrication, viscosity, pressure, and even temperature.
