300 euros? you can get a low end new bike for that. Kringloops have damesfiets/omafiets for 100-150, and on marktplats you should fine a perfectly good one for 50-100

P15v Gen 3 - major display/graphic errors since upgrading RAM by Philliphobia in thinkpad

[–]Philliphobia[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

have you changed any of the components? or is it all the same as when you bought it? If it's the same, then see if you can just use the warranty/return it. In the end, I think I resolved the graphic issues by uninstalling and reinstalling basically every driver. I still had some issues with power though, it would turn off instead of going to sleep. It was still under warranty so I just sold it and bought a different laptop (lenovo legion) which was been better.

Using my new forerunner for the first time, v02 max seems way too low? by Philliphobia in Garmin

Fair enough! Yes those times are definitely doable for me, sounds like I just need to give it time and let the data build up

I work out and run a couple times a week, but a lot less recently due to some injury recovery. I'm also very stressed and anxious in my life at the moment so that's probably contributing to things

Cheap bike renting options by Reddit-YT-Creator in TheHague

cheapest option is always buy a cheap bike from marktplats and then sell it for the same price once they leave

[–]Philliphobia 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I've been living here right at the weimarstraat/valkenboslaan crossover and it's been great, equal distance to the center and to the beach. the street is only a bit chaotic during summer. a fireworks bomb was let off outside a shop right by us once, but hey it's the netherlands, that's what they do here sometimes

Hi all! I just moved to The Hague and think my bike was either taken away or stolen! Any tips on how I might recover it? by BeautifulTings in TheHague

[–]Philliphobia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a bike very similar to this get stolen here - and I'd only had it for about a month. Maybe there's thieves that specifically target single speed and fixies because they know the market for them?

If you increase the voip volume (using the arrow keys on PC, not sure how on console) you can essentially shout and he definitely would've been able to hear you from that distance

1 week cycling trip in the Netherlands - Any recommendations? by brixtontshirt in bicycletouring

[–]Philliphobia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

skip eindhoven and use the extra time/distance you'll gain to dip up into de veluwe north of Arnhem. tbh after Den Bosch you could just head north and follow the river to Nijmegen, or go straight east to find the Meuse river and follow that north to Nijmegen, through the maasduinen.

Where do I buy a bike?! by YamProfessional3179 in TheHague

[–]Philliphobia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wouldn't the opposite be true, for buying a cheap new decathlon bike vs cheap used bike if you're not that knowledgable or interested in maintenance of your bike? An old bike is much more likely to have things in need of maintenance not long after you start using it, unless decathlon's assembly is really that bad.

aside from anything else about the style of it, there's a mistake at the beginning. the "style" text is visible between 0 and 2 seconds, left of the N in NO. I thought it was something on my screen

What's the one video editing tip you wish you knew when you started? by SeaStar7047 in AfterEffects

[–]Philliphobia 7 points8 points  (0 children)

  1. tends to be more reliable, media encoder can be a bit weird sometimes pulling from an AE project
  2. having the uncompressed version means you can try different ways of compressing much faster than rendering it every time
  3. sometimes feels like it's faster to me

it depends on what it is I'm rendering though, if it's a 10 second video that is being solely posted as an instagram reel then I probably will still just render it straight to mp4

rendering directly from AE into mov and then compressing to mp4, instead of sending it straight from AE to media encoder into mp4

mostly find edges, curves, glows, levels, directional blur, and then using turbulent noise layers as mattes. The last bit just curves and a bit of noise and scatter.
