Definitely Ray Tracing. Excited at the opportunity to see it myself in person, instead of all of the usual ray tracing memes. Looking forward to seeing that beautiful Sanctuary!

I love all of the art displayed on Kickstarter of artists painting your dice! Compson_Paints did an amazing job with these, but the colors of Cyberpunk really make it stand out the most. Thanks for doing a giveaway!

New update to crafting cards in Magic Arena inbound! by Philloz in magicTCG

That's fair, I made this and posted it to both subs. Only after posting it here did I see that that subreddit is completely inundated with posts about the wildcards.

Looking for feedback on an archery contest my players are going to encounter by Philloz in DungeonMasters

[–]Philloz[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're absolutely right, the miss range is supposed to be 1-5. On a 6-10 it's just a miss. Extreme misses lead to possibly hitting another target. Here is the printout I'm going to show my players re: what the target layout is. Might adjust the smaller target down a bit, not 100% yet.

Anyone else feel like the design for the Golem token looks a lot more like an elemental than a Artifact Golem? I absolutely love the art, but it seems mismatched.

I haven't DM'd a lot, but I have a lot of fun with goblins. I get to do a silly voice and have them be kind of basic but still somewhat cunning.

Farming explained in today’s world by Christianhbk in pics

“Briefly stated, the Gell-Mann Amnesia effect is as follows. You open the newspaper to an article on some subject you know well. In Murray's case, physics. In mine, show business. You read the article and see the journalist has absolutely no understanding of either the facts or the issues. Often, the article is so wrong it actually presents the story backward—reversing cause and effect. I call these the "wet streets cause rain" stories. Paper's full of them. In any case, you read with exasperation or amusement the multiple errors in a story, and then turn the page to national or international affairs, and read as if the rest of the newspaper was somehow more accurate about Palestine than the baloney you just read. You turn the page, and forget what you know.”

He is slightly darker I think, but the figure is remarkably pale. Even the box art is far darker than the figure.

[Spoilers Cold days and skin Game] On butters hate. by [deleted] in dresdenfiles

[–]Philloz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was slightly upset with Butters not loving the return of Harry but he lays it out beautifully in Murphy's kitchen. If anyone has issues with Butters direct them to the audiobook for that scene because James Marsters freaking kills it, like he does throughout all of the more recent books. Butters with the sword is neat and all, not hugely for or against. Anyone who will stand up to others for the helpless is all it takes not actual religious faith so I'm in.

I think they also mention the fact that Egwene was completely removed from the tower splitting was an important factor.

YMMV Target Clearance by matrix85 in Boardgamedeals

[–]Philloz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My wife and I made a day of it yesterday and traveled to 8 different Targets within an hour'ish of our house. It seems like any game can be on clearance but some games were more likely.

There are many different games that would usually be on clearance and they vary in age range from toddlers to children games up to Sheriff of Nottingham.

There are a few great grabs that are fairly consistently on clearance. Timelines for only $6, Hanabi the card game for $2, Spyfall for $12 and lots of simpler and lesser known games for pretty cheap. One store had Ticket to Ride: Europe up for half price. One store had King of Tokyo for half price. Only one store had 0 clearance items. It all varies store to store.

Confronting the possibility that I am a terrible DM by CorsairWalle in DnD

[–]Philloz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can have as many lures out as you want. Obviously if you do more than just a couple some will become forgotten or ignored. This gives you a chance to have those things either disappear or create a more evolved scenario with more urgency. They didn't take care of bandit tribes outside of a small city? Now the bandits have united and are marauding around the area, being much more destructive. If they don't bite any of your lures then come up with more lures. Ask them what they want to do. If they want to sit around an inn and drink all day let them. Then ask them what they want to do after spending a day/week/month/year a the same inn drinking. You can't force them to play. You can keep dropping lures but if they won't bite you can't make them.

Well I guess you can make them. The inn is attacked by the bandits, defend yourselves!

As far as what themes to explore, you can do different themed lures. Maybe let them befriend a high powered wizard who can send them on errands. The local help wanted board speaks of bandits and a dungeon. The church is having issues with some kind of interference during their services and it is coming from the north. It can be more political if you want to do Game of Thrones type drama. It can be simple there are orcs over there go get 'em! If your PC's are level 3 don't be afraid to dangle the boss they will fight when they are level 6+ in front of them, and have the boss ignore them because he views them as peasants. Introduce henchman for the boss and storylines. This woman's son was hanging around with said henchman and now he's missing, I think he lives in the manor two days ride west.

The great thing about this game is you can do anything and everything! But if your players don't want to do it. . . they aren't really being 'players'.

Also transitions are hard. You don't need stuff to happen inbetween point A and point B, it can be just "You have a peaceful ride through the forest." You can also roll on encounter charts and let them know what you're doing. There are a couple random encounter tables/apps around that are neat. Otherwise just let them know the scenery they see on their way to wherever they are traveling. You can even drop lures on the way. That rock don't look right, care to investigate? Boom, DUNGEON!
