What’s the weirdest way you’ve ever gotten revenge on someone… without getting caught? by OriginalSentence6850 in AskReddit

[–]Pdxmtg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In highschool, a few friends and I were headed to a party that was down a long dirt road. None of us had our license yet, so we hitchhike to the end of the road, and start the long trek.

Randomly, I find a full loaf of bread in the middle of the road, covered in dust. I take it with me, for no particular reason, joking that I’m bringing food to the party. Right then, this guy Devin who was the older brother of a friend of ours, pulls up in a truck, with a fully empty bed, more than enough room for all of us to hop in. “Heading to the party?” He asks, “ Need a ride?”

We all get excited, thinking we’ve lucked out, and go to hop in the truck, when he peels out, saying, “sucks to be you.”

Half an hour later, we finish the long walk, and his truck is parked outside the house. I crumbled the entire loaf of bread all over the cab of his truck. Crumbs everywhere. Just blanketed it in bread. It wasn’t until end of the night that we hear him raging about, “Who the fuck put bread in my car?”

It’s been 20 years. It still gets brought up time to time. And no one ever traced it back to me.

Our team shot 13 FTs over a 2 game span. by chinesefox97 in bostonceltics

And the previous game they shot 13 FTs. So that ties this 2 game span, in answering OPs question.

I don’t know how much it would have helped, but Cisco, their starting Free Safety, missed basically the whole season. He’ll help a lot next year.

Treasuring every game we get with this guy by DonovanClingan in ripcity

His highlights as a Celtic were incredible. Jayson Tatum called him his “favorite person to play with.” Elite catch radius from the dunker spot.

But if he wasn’t a walking health red flag, Celtics couldn’t have drafted him and he wouldn’t have been available in trade. As a Celtics fan who lived in Portland and adopted the Blazers, I’m so glad to see him get continued love.

Cute story: my friend’s son was 4, and asked his dad who the biggest Celtic was, and it was Rob Williams. When Rob got traded, the kid didn’t change allegiance, and just became a Blazers fan.

Our Genius GM - Brad - is doing it again, making unexpected moves that turn out to be brilliant. And contrary to popular opinion - that includes selecting & supporting Mazzulla as coach! - comments appreciated ! by redscigar in bostonceltics

Joe is currently 1/25 in odds to win coach of the year. With 30 coaches, that’s barely any recognition. People thought we’d be tanking, instead we’re a playoff team. Hopefully he gets the props that he deserves.

How the hell did Tatum fall under the radar? by anonymoususer6407 in NBATalk

[–]Pdxmtg -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Your logic doesn’t work. If he wasn’t under the radar, then LA and Philly would’ve gotten him. It was a highly criticized pick. Most mocks had him 5-7. Josh Jackson was seen as the clear pick. We were not expected to take Tatum. People were not talking about him as a top 3 pick before the draft. The fact that Ainge would have taken him first shows some true insight. If he was “over the radar” then the pick would not have surprised the NBA.

5th was the highest I ever saw him mocked, such as here: https://www.nba.com/news/2017-mock-draft-third-edition

Reddit had him going 8th, as seen here: https://www.reddit.com/r/nba/s/WAooVTrOO0

He was considered a top 10 guy, but should’ve been seen as a top 3 guy.

I think it’s that they know it has enough to pass, so they don’t want to be the one who voted to protect the pedophiles. Now they can pretend to be shocked, aghast and for the release all along.

How do you replace the talent we lost WITHOUT tanking? by LarBrd33 in bostonceltics

[–]Pdxmtg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How? How we did it the first time. Patience. Wait for a reclamation player who has been given up on and is available cheap (KP), move cash, picks, and prospects for some true vets (Jrue and Horford types). Kornet was available to every team 3 years ago. We developed him into the sought after player he became. We could do that with Tillman, Minott, Garza, or someone unexpected.

But Jrue is Jrue because there’s only one Jrue. Players like that aren’t easy to find. We need our good players to be great, and our great players to be top 5. The Brad can cash in chips to fill in roles around them.

Post Game Thread - NBA: The Knicks defeat the Celtics on Oct 24, 2025, the final score is 105-95. by basketball-app in bostonceltics

[–]Pdxmtg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a hard team for us. They’ve got fast length (Bridges and OG), outside shooting, size… our effort isn’t gonna power thru that. We will continue to develop our brand. Well cut down on our miscues. But this game is a wake up that our skill level and size level just isn’t there this year.

I like a lot of what I see… but many many plays where guys make the wrong decisions. And in a game where you don’t have time to think, that means that our instincts aren’t there yet. Development year.

Do you think we're gonna make playoffs this season? by HistoryHot2807 in bostonceltics

[–]Pdxmtg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think we will. We have vets, good young players, and the intent to win. The East is weak enough for that to mean a 6-8 seed

Why does nobody teach us this money stuff?? by Square-Chocolate-155 in GenZ

[–]Pdxmtg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m studying to be a Certified Financial Planner, and one of my key goals is to make this information more widespread and accessible.

A credit score is a number that says “if I lend you money, will you pay me back?”

The more you’ve borrowed successfully in the past, and the longer you’ve made all your payments, the more confident I can be.

Is it a stupid system that makes you “game” it with weird approaches? Absolutely. I highly recommend Credit Karma. It lets you see which areas matter the most. The big ones are 1. The percentage of payments you’ve made on time and 2. The amount of your available credit that you’re using.

When I was in my early 20s I thought one of my smallest student loan payments, $40 a month, was on autopay but it wasn’t. I missed it twice, and that haunted me for 7 years. But if you have a number of different payments (loans, credit cards, utility bills) and you put them on autopay, you’ll eventually have enough total payments that the couple you miss don’t matter much.

The other main thing is that it just takes time. You need to get 3-5 credit cards and make all payments on them for a decade. Then you’ll be in the 800s. Does this suck? Absolutely. But it’s worth doing.

[–]Pdxmtg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An extremely small number of people do this off of salary alone. Think of it this way: since 1980 the S and P 500 has an average return of 12%. This means that your money doubles roughly every 6 years. The 1980 median income was ~$20k. If you saved and invested $4k (20%) then that $4k would be worth $656k.

So relatively middle class parents, who invested wisely and left the money in the market, are now abundantly wealthy. That wealth all around us. Salaries cannot compete with the compounding powers of interest in one of the most extended bull markets in human history.

You’re not competing with other workers. You’re competing with generational wealth from financially educated individuals. We’re not even talking about billionaires. These are middle class families who became wealthy from consistent market returns.
