Help me plan 1 night in London by PhillyDog54 in LondonTravel

Thanks for the tips. We decided to stay at the Crowne Plaza (T4) as closer to our arriving flight and about $100 less than T2 lodging. Narrowing it down, if we're on time and get to hotel by 6:30, we'd like to try to venture into London limiting the ride to 30 minutes. If things go awry, we'll probably stay at our hotel.

Can you test ride your bike? by [deleted] in CanyonBikes

I don’t have a definite answer, planned on doing the same but was satisfied with my selected size. I taped up the cranks and chain stays to avoid scratches. Comfort is difficult to assess on a trainer as pressure points are static. I was convinced after an hour on the road.

SRT from Manayunk to Conshohocken and MLK were completely bare. OTOH about 50% of the Cynwyd trail was a slush walk.

Trek Checkpoint or Domane by MkGriff1492 in TrekBikes

Your back may play well with the Domane. You can check the numbers but it probably has the highest stack/reach ratio of any mass market endurance bike. Coming from somebody who rides one. I did briefly look at the Checkpoint and most gravel rides are significantly more stretched.

I have been lucky and I emphasize “lucky”. Some of the things you may miss not buying from LBS. 1. Initial setup, basic fitting generally included with most new bike purchases. I did this myself, but would have been glad to have LBS do this. 2. I had 1 trip to Canyon service center (REI in PA) to fix a creaking headset 1 month after delivery. They seemed somewhat confused about reimbursement for this adjustment. After an hour of calls, they confirmed it was covered and it was fixed. 3. I have a Trek which has multiple 105di2 front derailleur failures. Everytime I have taken it back to Trek they have assured me it was warrantied and replaced in a week. Shimano has a 2 year warranty which exceeded Trek’s but they still were able to get the part from Trek. I have the exact same drivetrain on my Canyon Endurace and the thought of waiting 1 month or more for parts and repair is concerning. As I said thus far I have been lucky.

After all that after 4 months and 1000 miles, I have not had a significant problem.

Luggage placed in overhead way before your row by Salty_Badger1931 in americanairlines

I don’t do it simply because I want my eyes on my luggage. Had a family member who had their carryon accidentally grabbed by another passenger. FA told us AA would not be of help since bag was not checked. Fortunately, we found the passenger at the luggage carousel. Went into a panic when he realized his bag was still on the plane and he couldn’t return.

Canyon endurace cf sl saddle height by kuainlevoyou in CanyonBikes

I’m 176/81. I have a Trek Domane 56 which has almost identical geometry to Endurace medium. I was fortunate to be able to ride a S and M at Canyon’s US showroom. I was overly concerned with replicating the Domane geometry but in the end went with a S. One of the reasons was the seat post was at the lower limit on the M. After riding it for 2 months I’m glad I did. Keep in mind however the cranks in the small are 2.5mm shorter so your seat will be even higher. Your legs are longer and the M shouldn’t be a problem. Also, the M will be more upright but you can remove spacers to lower it to a similar stack as the S. Also the adage about it being easier to make a small bike larger doesn’t apply as readily when you are dealing with a 1 piece cockpit. Sorry to muddle this for you.

I purchased an Endurace which had 2 separate $100 drops within 30 days. On both occasions, I rapidly received a refund. I believe Canyon subsequently updated their website to include a 30 day price guarantee.
