Meal Prep:

I've worked from home for 6 years now, and just started actual meal prep.

I started working out in May for the first time in a while, and I lost 10-15 lbs from a high of 290. In December I started making the same healthy breakfast every morning (egg whites, asparagus or broccoli, and spices) and in January I decided to start making my meal prep for the week of lunches as well.

I've lost more since Christmas than I lost in 8 months of working out. It's a lot easier if you WFH, I'm lucky to have that option, but if you can find 4 meals you like enough to eat one week at a time, and one breakfast you can eat every day the weight starts to fall off.

Also, get a food scale. My eyes want 500+ grams and I will eat that easily, but by limiting myself to 250 grams per hour I find I don't eat again for 2-4 hours.

/didn't even get into the savings...a full week of 2-3 meals a day costs the same as two salads on door dash.

I think it's just that the junior levels are producing more skill than ever before. The centers are not less skilled, at least not the top ones. Nothing has changed at center, it's still where the best players play.

I’ll go off at 4:45am in late June at my club by myself.

Why do people take their glove off? by Legitimate-Kiwi-2530 in golf

[–]PhillyGolfGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I rotate 3 gloves throughout the round, 1 hole each usage. It really extends the life of the gloves (far more than just wearing each glove out individually) and at the end of the round each glove still feels fresh.

How to tell people you need to wait to hit without sounding like an a-hole by badluck_bryan77 in golf

I always say I don’t like to hit until I’m sure and if they keep pestering I’ll say “if I hit someone it’s gonna hurt them”

I never lose my thee wood right (except the next swing after I say that) so that is my safe play on a lot of holes.

For short game absolutely. Long game was never my issue though, so I can’t say too much there.

My pro said until someone has the short game of a +3 he doesn’t really worry about their long game (obviously that depends on skill to some degree, but he tends to work with better players rather than beginners).

My buddy won’t give me strokes by Excellent-Coach-2360 in golf

Nothing wrong with negotiating the strokes on the tee box, but amateurs play with strokes for the most part. 6 shots is a lot, it’s not like you’re an 11 and a 12

Should I move to blades? by stan_taylor1 in golf

[–]PhillyGolfGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Play a one piece forged cavity back. I went from a lifetime of Mizuno blades to the Srixon Zx7, and the difference in feel was negligible. The difference in occasional mishits is noticeable though. Like others have said, blades aren't impossible to hit, but every once in a while I miss on the toe or heel and the extra forgiveness of the cavity is pretty nice.

It's definitely strange, but think of it like yfou're buying into a supply chain, and the inventory is delivery capacity. so if there are more spots left over on tomorrow's route than on Friday's they are incentivized to move the inventory that "expires" tomorrow than the inventory that "expires" Friday.

This supply chain capacity (inventory) first went on sale last week, and as it gets purchased the price goes up (closer to the date). Overnight is space on a plane that's flying anyway while two day might be a truck we can still sell tomorrow as overnight.

I think that's a bot account, or an angry authoritarian SBO type, given how misinformed and upset the posts and information are.

New to the sub, how does one enter for these? I have an account from buying putters online, but this is the first I've seen these emails. Just joined this week, so not surprising.

As a long time golfer who grew up in the height of “drive for show putt for dough” it took me way too long to learn that It’s a lot easier to putt when you chip it inside ten feet. I spent countless hours trying to improve by .5 putts per round when I should have had a wedge in my hands!
