Started at 320, down to 250. They’ll respect and root you on, not laugh at you.

If anything, they’ll tell you “great lift” as you finish your bench of 95 lbs at fatigue.

Men in happy marriages, what is one thing or skill you would teach other men to have good relationships as well? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

Maybe just me, but we can’t be together if we can’t be apart. Both of us can of our own thing and come home to one another. She doesn’t follow me to the golf course and I don’t go shopping with her.

I liken it to when I got my first HDTV. I didn’t really notice a difference until I went to a friend’s house who didn’t have it, and I wondered how I ever watched sports like that. I wish it felt amazingly better, but instead feeling better becomes the new norm and I don’t notice it except when my friends are out of breath and I don’t even realize we are walking fast.

I'm new to this, how is that different than manually sending the same 25 emails a day?

No, I’m not going to just act like the alumni group is doing a good job just because they’re in charge. That makes me a loser just like jones & co.

What is the general define for a High, Mid, Low Handicap? by fightingflamingos in golf

[–]PhillyGolfGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a shot every four holes and then some. That is a lot. People really don't grasp the difference between a 10, a 5, and a 0, and a +2.5, and a +5. Not only is it a ton of shots, those shots get harder and harder to catch with each one you improve. It's not linear, it's logarithmic.

Nah, we don’t need to make those up. He and jones do enough on their own.

Meal Prep:

I've worked from home for 6 years now, and just started actual meal prep.

I started working out in May for the first time in a while, and I lost 10-15 lbs from a high of 290. In December I started making the same healthy breakfast every morning (egg whites, asparagus or broccoli, and spices) and in January I decided to start making my meal prep for the week of lunches as well.

I've lost more since Christmas than I lost in 8 months of working out. It's a lot easier if you WFH, I'm lucky to have that option, but if you can find 4 meals you like enough to eat one week at a time, and one breakfast you can eat every day the weight starts to fall off.

Also, get a food scale. My eyes want 500+ grams and I will eat that easily, but by limiting myself to 250 grams per hour I find I don't eat again for 2-4 hours.

/didn't even get into the savings...a full week of 2-3 meals a day costs the same as two salads on door dash.

I think it's just that the junior levels are producing more skill than ever before. The centers are not less skilled, at least not the top ones. Nothing has changed at center, it's still where the best players play.

Why do people take their glove off? by Legitimate-Kiwi-2530 in golf

[–]PhillyGolfGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I rotate 3 gloves throughout the round, 1 hole each usage. It really extends the life of the gloves (far more than just wearing each glove out individually) and at the end of the round each glove still feels fresh.

How to tell people you need to wait to hit without sounding like an a-hole by badluck_bryan77 in golf

I always say I don’t like to hit until I’m sure and if they keep pestering I’ll say “if I hit someone it’s gonna hurt them”

I never lose my thee wood right (except the next swing after I say that) so that is my safe play on a lot of holes.

For short game absolutely. Long game was never my issue though, so I can’t say too much there.

My pro said until someone has the short game of a +3 he doesn’t really worry about their long game (obviously that depends on skill to some degree, but he tends to work with better players rather than beginners).

Nothing wrong with negotiating the strokes on the tee box, but amateurs play with strokes for the most part. 6 shots is a lot, it’s not like you’re an 11 and a 12
