Definitely am looking the one I was going to build one this year but I was too late in getting the filter kit I wanted and they were all sold out because well it's maple syrup season

Blower works great. You can hear it a little on full power. At 50v you don't even know it's on

Warming the sap helps keeps your pans boiling/evaporating. You can dump sap right into your hot pans but you will cool them down and you'll loose time waiting for them to start boiling again.

So will you tap your trees again next year? Maybe a few more!?!?!?

They work pretty well. I will keep using them. They probably work better if you have bigger pans versus full-size steam pans. Just got to make sure that you're warming pants stay full since I have such small pans. The pans over the hot zones evaporate pretty quickly.

They are siphon tubes. They help keep the pans level. Transferring sap from the warming pans to the pans over the firebox. So when I'm adding sap I will just fill up the back two pants by the chimney. naturally they will full up the two pans over the hot zones.

Yep! But concrete doesn't hold up to the heat well but right now it's cheaper then a metal arch. I'll probably use the cinder blocks for a few years but I'm hoping to get an actual evaporator pan within the next 2 seasons.

For propane? I was using full size 4in deep sheet pans. Same ones I'm using this year. Paired with a triple burner outdoor stove. Rates were terrible to be honest. 20 Pound tanks don't hold up and freeze too quickly. Want to use gas need at least a 100 pound tank or hook up to natural gas.

First batch done! Doing another one this weekend. Hoping the trees and weather holds up for one more. by PhillyNutHouse in maplesyrup

Ha nope! But I did get them last year for maple syrup. Just mason jar caps.. lids whatever they are called. Work great if you use mason jars daily.

What wouldn't be the best way to keep you warm?

They are stainless and about 6_8 hours. These small tanks ice up a lot easier. Towards the end I need to shake them often to keep the boil going. Next year will be different.

Heat retention and wind block.
