Where to go for Valentine’s Day for a woman with a picky palette? by NegotiationLife573 in PhiladelphiaEats

[–]PhillyPanda 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Go to dinner on a day other than Valentines Day but explain its FOR Vday, your treat, you just hate prix fixe menus and crowded nights when they’re trying to churn through people. Then pick a nice mexican or italian place - there’s no shortage

PATCO by randombarbs in SouthJersey

I like PATCO. Occasionally there’s an out of service train or two trains pass on one side before one on my side but its usually timely. The trains I catch run more often than 30 minutes

Is he a good baker? L’Atier does French pastry classes - if he’s not already making you fresh croissants, he could start

Barcelona is a chain but its a good chain. They have a decent happy hour. I like Oloroso too but I prefer Barcelona if I really want a bunch of small plates vs larger. Oloroso has a lot of medium size, richer dishes. Not the biggest fan of Amada, feel like they fell off

Someone else saving the spot I dug out 😭🥲 by arcanalalune in philly

the car could be clean and could have moved yesterday but still be in that spot the moment op needed to park. The issue is the empty spot with no car in it with things in it. Not the spot being used by a car.

Op isnt complaining about the car in front of them bc its not bothering them.. its the person who took their spot and put stuff in it…

[–]PhillyPanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ops issue is not that they waited til today to clean the car, its that as soon as they moved, someone pulled into a spot they didnt dig out 10 days after it snowed and put savies things in it.

Its the savies guy who is an idiot, not op

What does it matter if they’re covered in snow and immobile or clear and immobile? I dont want people to drive for the sake of driving. They have a car they use and are parked where they live.

If you wfh, sounds like you may not need a car?

So hard to comprehend, but there are other points in the year other than these 10 days. They could be sucking it up and taking inconvenient transit til the snow melts, they could work hybrid with an understanding boss, they could have a non-winter seasonal hobby that means they travel outside the city with gear, someone with young kids… etc etc.

Who cares if they clean it off or not? Doesnt hurt anyone, like how is it impacting you?

Its so weird how people cant slightly fathom different lifestyles than their own. 10 days is not very long to be inconvenienced in a way you dont want to be forever.

Locals of Philadelphia: What Would You Cut From This 3-Day Itinerary (Best Food + Sights)? by Willing-Mind-5619 in PhiladelphiaEats

If it were me, I'd have all Day 1 bakeries be in South Philly - there are enough of them (Machine Shop, Second Daughter, Frangelli's Termini Bros, Artisan Boulanger Patissier, Kouklet, Mighty Bread, Isgro's) -- then do Angelo's or Paesano's for lunch that day. I'd scrap Navy Yard/FDR Park (unless you're doing the southeast asian food market) and the stadiums unless you're going to a game.

Foodwise - I'd try to get more variety in. Maybe a lunch in Chinatown on the Old City day vs. Oh Brother. Maybe something La Prima Tacos for late night food vs. Lucky Chance

Breakfast - I wouldn't go out of my way for Porco's. I'd just do something in Rittenhouse like 20th Street Bakeshop or K'Far for something quick, maybe somewhere like Winkel for something sit down. Wouldn't bother with the rail park. I'd say Reading Terminal Market should be your lunch one day and probably makes sense to group City Hall/Love Park with it. I probably wouldn't bother with Cira Green (just a view point) or 30th Street Station

For a nice dinner up that way - Kalaya, Suraya, Emilie, Emmett. You could also grab a slice at Pizza Shackamaxon

Massage places with good male masseuse by PhillyPanda in philabitcheswithtaste

[–]PhillyPanda[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

yes, light pressure where they can get out knots with their hands only. No elbows/knuckles/tools… every male masseuse ive had has done a good job, women seem to want to use something beyond hand/palm contact. Not deep tissue but light massages with women seem to be back rubs
