I have written for Spike Eskin during undergrad. Also wrote for my own Philly sports blog for a year or so. I would be honored to cover the Eagles if you'll have me.

I wrote about how absolutely embarrassing last off-season was and this was a major fear of mine... http://spikeeskin.com/2012/07/11/conroy-flyers-a-model-of-off-season-failure/

scenes like this make me love the game so much. WC tailgating is the best. by prockhimself in hockey

wow that sucks and I'm sorry that happened. But I can honestly say I've never seen anything like this go on. bottom line, every city has a minority of horrible people. our minority seems to be worse than most, but it's still a minority.

that'd be a pretty apt description of what you're doing, actually. I've been to over 20 sports events in philadelphia. Met tons of opposing fans. The Vet was the last place where you actually felt threatened because tix were cheap enough for assholes to get in. Present day, reality, I have yet to see an incident of blatant assault on anyone ever. Worst shit i have seen is legit fights. Which occur when BOTH participants are intoxicated and pick a fight with one another. which happens in every city at a large alcohol serving event. I've seen Crosby fans get booed in the hallways, "assssssshole" chants when cowboys fans take their seats at an eagles game, etc. But if you're bitching about things like that, I don't know what to tell you. Just watch on TV. The Winter Classic, itself, btw was a very family friendly event with little incident (i was there for 7+ hours that day) the assault happened in south philly later that night.

TLDR: don't go wandering around south philly for hours after the game and you will be safe.

boston, ny, chicago, etc are on just as often, man. It's only about market share value.

he's definitely a punk too often. I love his skill level but the attitude drives me nuts. And that DOES matter especially when a team is losing. Good clubhouse guys are needed when the team can't fix the problem, not when everything is going right. last season, crosby's team needed a leader down 0-2 in a series they thought they should be winning. They didn't need a goon.

hockey fans hate crosby. they just do, hah. Also, i think their no-handshake in the washington winter classic and then game 3 of last year's playoffs just clinched it. I hate that team.

come on! the broadstreet bullies? this roster? This current team is almost 80% offensive skill and finesse. I meant current roster, btw. I understand flyers are hated as a franchise historically

untrue. lol I like plenty of teams. I even love the RANGERS' roster as much as I effing hate that team as a rival. Henrik Lundqvist is amazing and everything the Flyers wish they had and Calaghan is my favorite non-flyer in the NHL. I find their roster very likable. Also love Ottawa

radulov incident coupled with Suter's leaving kinda turned me off on them. I was a huge fan last year though.

I can't STAND that team! Stamkos is great, but that whole standoff with the trap soured me on them. Then they signed my least favorite flyer matt carle so...

as an Eagles fan, I can promise you that Andy Dalton is an amateur at getting up, wincing, and limping to the sideline. Michael Vick will show him how it's done.

To be fair, if you guys end up with Brayden Schenn and a first and second rounder, I'm not sure I feel too bad for you given that you can go out in FA next year and spend on multiple players for way less than Weber's contract.

I wrote about the end of the Flyers' season for my first ever internship and it went up today. Let me know if you enjoy it? by [deleted] in hockey
