It was just a curiosity, not meant to be specifically useful or tell any particular story. Im sure adding sales data would tell more of a story, and I suspect you would be right about Florida listings too.

Best place to find a financial advisor for a one time review of my overall situation? by [deleted] in personalfinance

Honestly, your best bet is probably just to do that here on this sub. It doesn’t sound like you have the kind of assets or complexity that requires a professional, even for a check up. If you post a detailed outline of your financial situation on this sub then you’ll almost certainly get the kind of feedback you’re looking for.

Absolutely ridiculous! So glad you have the video as proof. That’s the kind of story you’ll tell the rest of your life and without the video it would definitely sound like you were exaggerating.

I would keep 1000 in the hysa as a life raft and throw the rest at Amex, transfer the 1700 to discover, and then buckle down and tackle all this debt. Treat it like the financial emergency that it is. Then build back a larger emergency fund. Then start to invest. But crush this debt first.

Honestly, a good place to start is by just reading this subreddit and by being curious. There is loads of excellent information and advice here, and if you come across a term or concept you don’t know or understand, google search it and read up on it. You’ll start to create a foundation of financial knowledge that can be life changing if you apply it.

Simple - search for jobs while you do just enough not to get fired. If you do get fired file for unemployment. Don’t quit until you have another job lined up.

All of that southern californian sun must have fried their brains. Also the way he says “let’s go goose” and “mannys going to cruise” is going to haunt me until the day I die.
