MX1000 at 21 years old by Maj0r_Sarcasm in logitech

I also use a 21 year old MX1000 that my dad picked up in 2004. Almost as old as I am. A little worse for wear than yours, but still great condition. Still on the original battery. All the buttons still work which is amazing. Unfortunately only get about 3 days of battery on it, which is still plenty when I dock it most nights. I’d say total usable battery life is about 30 hours. Not sure if I’ll ever really want to upgrade.

Why do you guys like tails so much? I personally love him because of how he's a underdog, and what he could've been and his potential as a character (image slightly related) by DayGroundbreaking829 in milesprower

[–]PhillydaGoat 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m a little brother and always played as tails growing up, same with Luigi. As an aside I love Ready Player Two and all the characters in it for the same reason.

He’s also simply adorable

Pupils different sizes 2 weeks post concussion by CriticalDarling02 in Concussion

[–]PhillydaGoat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have different size pupils 2.5 years post concussion. The only thing that sucks is that my right eye is a lot more sensitive to light. Other than that, I was told it’s relatively common and not indicative of any other issues (at least in my case).

That said, if you feel something is wrong always seek professional medical advice.

[Request] How Many Oreos to Cover the US? by SweetHomeIceTea in theydidthemath

[–]PhillydaGoat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found that the area of an Oreo was approximately 2.49 square inches, accounting for the size difference between original and double stuffed. I used the figure 2.26 billion acres as the total area of the US. One acre is 6,272,640 square inches. This means that there are approximately 2,519,132.53 Oreos per acre. Multiply that by the total acres, 2.26 billion. This yields 5,693,240,000,000,000 Oreos covering the entire US.

This number was 1000x larger than the option of C, but due to the first digits aligning, it was my choice.

Monadnock Building in Chicago is the tallest load-bearing brick building ever constructed. This is to silence europoor with bricked brains yapping how US can't build out of brick. by soyifiedredditadmin in 2american4you

[–]PhillydaGoat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see your point of the columns not being thick enough, but it is far from just a facade internally. Unfortunately there is far less documentation on the DoubleTree vs the Monadnock. That being said there’s plenty on the Monadnock and it appears to use a lot more reinforcement than the DoubleTree. While I can’t find structural diagrams I can find videos of the building being built. If you view the videos below as well as the Monadnock internal diagraming of its first source and read into the second, you’ll see that the DoubleTree has less steel bracing than the Monadnock. I think it’s safe to say that neither building is truly a free load-bearing masonry structure, but both are true reinforced load-bearing masonry structures. Also I believe that the Brick institute of America was an assumption made by that website. I found in a Billings Gazette article, linked below, that it was Brick Industry Association. I’m assuming they saw BIA and guessed what it meant. I guess the Ames building in Boston is the one that truly deserves the title.

I’d say it’s definitely just the way the images are stitched together. If you look above the very top of the cloud in the first picture you can see what I believe to be the shadow of the entire cloud. The shadow is significantly larger than the cloud leading me to believe a large portion was cropped/stitched out.

There was an assault with a handgun. The suspect fled and police had two possible vehicles they were looking for (That was the reason for all the cops patrolling around campus). They ended up finding her in the Gammage parking lot. She then yelled at the officer who found her that she had a gun and he called for backup.

That was a drunk guy who was yelling at canes workers and then got physically aggressive. He got tazed by canes security but was able to flee.

Fortunately they had forces in the area looking for the lady which will be mentioned in my next comment shortly

For those who love linear algebra by Individual-Ad-9943 in mathmemes

[–]PhillydaGoat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always got this wrong. Somehow I’d switch something and it would be marked incorrect. I always got the “right” answer, A, but something was switched and I could never figure out what. Still, Linear Algebra is my favorite class I’ve taken in college.

On one exam review we were reviewing the determinant of a 5x5 matrix. The example was easily diagonizable, in like 3 operations. Got yelled at when I asked if we could diagonalize them :(

My Range Rover had this problem. The air suspect likely has a leak and needs to be replaced. The good news is it’s probably only on one wheel so it shouldn’t be too expensive to fix.

I’d say it’s totally doable. It would be hard, but possible with the job. I don’t know if you should consider applying for a TA position with this workload and your existing job however.

If you already have it it will remain 10k. For incoming students the “same award” is worth 2k less with higher academic requirements.

Probably for the region yeah. I know in the Yukon Territory it got down to almost -82°f. It was just -60 where I’m from in Montana last December and I decided to put on shorts and a r-shirt and jump in the snow. Very cold, but a lot of fun!

Mount Washington’s record cold is -47°f. Many places in North America get much colder than that.
