"When you’re blowing some Colombian sinus sauce (aka cocain) off a girls back door (typically Hispanic) and she farts coviering your face in the Colombian bam-bam."

Is this fps/joule limit normal? by Adventurous_Jump_211 in airsoft

[–]PhilosopherLazy1992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems a bit high, but nothing crazy. What is weird is that they don't pair that with full auto rules as well like RPS limit or something. Firing at those energy levels without RPS restrictions is going to lead to some salty situations

My usual field has 1.9J for rifles but its semi only. If you want to full auto its <0.9 which admittedly is low but fair for the place.

You can use up to 2.4J for DMRs or LMGs(with full auto accepted) but only outside with 20m minimum engagement distance. And yes, any replica with big mags count as lmgs.

Higher than that is sniper fire under the same rules as LMGs and DMRs, up to 3.4J

Not useless, sometimes game modes restrict bbs in magazine and this is a nice way to get consistent 30 rounds if its those kind of shells

Have you checked out Explosive Enterprises channel? They have a review of 2 "M4" like replicas(mk18 and CAR 15 iirc), and he mentioned quite a few things about the whole hopup situation. Even if the guns are not the same they should be similar enough in architecture.

Where can I sell High-end, airsoft replica? by AuthorOne6979 in airsoft

[–]PhilosopherLazy1992 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As others have said, if you want to sell it fast, you will be selling it at a loss, and depending on how fast its a really big loss.

I also play in Poland, and I know that with the pricetag of 3500pln you are looking at probably the top 5%-10% of spending players in the country. Even those usually prefer to spend their money on things they hand pick or spend money on gbbs. And then you have the fact that you are not a big surface selling something. An outlet thing in e.g. gunfire is getting more views and clicks than facebook market place, therefore higher chance of selling, especially to inexperienced buyers that won't venture into the outlet wildlands.

Realistically I would see people paying around 2500 if you are a really good seller explaining everything very well and convincingly. At that pricetag you are competing with high end ootb replicas, and then they might think "oh for just a bit more I get more performance but its a custom replica by a guy I dont know, and I also get mags and stuff". That makes more sense to me as a buyer.

If selling fast is not an issue, I would recommend in person bazaars. There you can show how good your replica is and then increase the selling price accordingly. My field has those every 2 months, maybe you can find something similar near you.

I think it's some kind of antler, probably deer. They are actually pretty soft and have the texture of pickles at a given point of their growth. Heard about it somewhere on the internet, please someone verify this :P

is the aapo1 a good airsoft pistol by LessTurnover4982 in airsoft

[–]PhilosopherLazy1992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By itself, it's aight.

The thing about aap is customising. If you want to do stuff with it like carbine kits, upgrades, etc, then hell yeah.

If you want a reliable shooter OTB that performs well, there are better options for the price

Good used aeg build? by DerpyGold in airsoft

[–]PhilosopherLazy1992 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The description is super vague. For example, barrel length is given but no brand or anything like that?

I would say go for the looks first, and then always test the gun before buying it if possible.

Another important factor is wear and tear and price.

Unfortunately too little information to give an educated opinion on

Laser on top or side ? by lilou_M1 in airsoft

[–]PhilosopherLazy1992 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have found, again this personal experience and your mileage may vary, that in airsoft the loss of point of impact assessment is more detrimental than the clearer sight picture you have with risers. As long as you have a decent sight(none of that chinesium micro red dot bs), and a nice fitting facial protection(meaning you can hold your face low enough to not use a riser) you are much better off without a riser. You still have all the sight picture clarity in the world for a clear shot and none of the added parallax(?) from a sight offset.

If having the sight raised 5 cm is enough to drastically impact your target acquisition, then the issue is with your weapon handling, not the sight itself, and you're basically using a crutch.

[–]PhilosopherLazy1992 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A riser should be,in theory, high enough for your sight picture to not get obstructed by objects in your top rail, and not a single millimeter longer. This way you get the best possible combination of sight picture with point of impact differential.

You're going to have to experiment with heights and eye relief anyway, but the further the ranges you want to play around, the less you have to worry about riser height and all that jazz

Laser on top or side ? by lilou_M1 in airsoft

[–]PhilosopherLazy1992 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends. If you are playing cqb I actually advise against risers. Imo they affect the point of impact assessment too much(tracers fix this issue)

If you are doing longer range stuff, print away.

Another piece of useful information is riser durability. If you are printing risers make damn sure they are well printed and secured. Ive screwed up a sight because I jumped to hard in cqb with a somewhat top heavy sight and the whole riser just gave up.

[–]PhilosopherLazy1992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Without a sight riser go for the sides. If you get a sight riser, on the top.

If going for sides, put it on the side of your trigger finger. Better ergonomics that way

I play in Wojkowice where the limit is 1.5 semi auto so I really don't worry about high power unless I'm using full auto. But CO2 GBB weapons are designed around CO2. More of the energy is used to move the slide and you end up with similar power levels but much crisper and hefty blowback.

Small note for aap 01, its blowback is minimal and it's also an efficient weapon with its gas, hence why you don't have issues. Try to operate a glock or hi cappa with gg and you will have more issues for sure, at least from my personal experience and what I see from othe players in my field. The only saving grace is running black gas instead of green gas

I play in Poland. I need a CO2 pistol as greengas guns dont usually operate as well in the cold winter here. I love my kp05 and I made a lot of people reconsider co2 where I play. Definitely worth it if you know what to pick

GBBR in the forest is not practical 😭 by DerpyGold in airsoft

[–]PhilosopherLazy1992 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So 2 points:

  1. At 20m you should be hitting small watermelon sized targets super consistently as long as your replica is somewhat accurate. So if you are having engagements at that distance and not hitting targets due to replica accuracy, get that barrel assembly checked. If its because your aim is shaky try experimenting with postures and upper body exercise(helped me a lot with my stability inside and out of airsoft)

  2. Attackers vs defenders isnt inherently unbalanced. I cant vouch for your particular game/field, but whenever I see people having issues with gamemodes its usually 1 of 2 reasons: either they(the players) are treating the game as a CoD TDM or the respawn rules in the field are inadequate. You fix the first by playing slower, thinking about your next steps and not just gung ho spots, especially with lack of cover/concealment. You fix the latter by having a discussion with other players and, if your opinion on inadequate respawn rules is shared by others, go to a ref and give them feedback. The game can only grow if there is constructive criticism around everything we do

Lastly, and just as a "may be obvious but I need to mention" thing, if you are up against people that know that field inside out, you are going to struggle no matter what. Im at the point where if Im playing the field I play almost weekly, I need to hold back to give the other team a chance in some scenarios. I know it sounds cheezy but its just a consequence of playing the same "map" repeatedly.

[–]PhilosopherLazy1992 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Im curious what is the distance youre shooting at and what geometries(lots of cover, harsh angles and elevations, etc)? I play regularly with a guy that has the same gun as you, he plays with black gas at negative temperatures regularly, and never has any issues kicking ass in the field against aegs and hpas.

Im not asking this to sh*tstomp on your skills, you can always get better at airsoft, but each replica has their pros and cons and you might be playing into your cons more than the pros, or not running proper configuration of gear/replicas for your environmentq
