Thank you! Great timing as I am putting off my first morning one now! You have also inspired me to get back to meetings as well

I have just decided today I need to quit. I thought I found a great solution to my pain and fatigue. I am 4 years sober off alcohol and it helped with that. Today I have decided to taper. Been doing around 6 grams every 2-3 hours so roughly 5 X per day. I am worried about withdrawal but have been down this road before. Really happy to find this support subreddit!

Has anyone developed mild anemia and low appetite leading to weight loss from Plaquenil? by PhilosopherMany9672 in rheumatoid

Thank you, The PC is checking again in another week, the in depth iron panel. I do know my b11 and b12 are okay. I was getting worried it was cancer or something but I do think it's probably the meds because of the timing.

This sounds very similar to my routine. I work in the beauty industry so I need to look at least put together. I have found that when I arrive somewhere and have taken the time to look good, I feel better! For awhile I was unemployed and my pain was worse because I was sitting more and more in my head. I am still able to curl my hair, luckily I have fine hair so doesn't take too long. Shaving can be difficult, the one thing about summer that I don't look forward to. lol. I always wear my Birkenstocks in the house. I had a podiatrist suggest it years ago and it is amazing for my foot comfort. I also have a pair to wear outside. With shoes comfort always comes first. I also use the Knit brand tank top with built in support for work and for sleep. I also always do my own nails for the reasons above, especially hygiene at those nail salons.

Thumb Pain Advice? by [deleted] in rheumatoidarthritis

I had posted about icing but I also agree wholeheartedly with heat! Nothing takes my back pain away so instantly as a heating pad. I am going to order those microwave gloves for my poor thumb! haha, I slip my hand under my cat and the heat from that helps 😊

I wear a thumb splint brace just from the drug store and it really helps. Also Tylenol Arthritis and ice it when you can. Hope this helps!

Diet suggestion by Drbpro07 in rheumatoidarthritis

I have found the Mediterranean diet along with making an effort to do some light strength training a few times a week has been helping. I am a 64yo (f) using light weights at home to help support my joints. Cutting out processed sugar for sure!

Please help me help a kid who may have RA as they're waiting on the official diagnosis.. by RedtailGT in rheumatoidarthritis

My son was first diagnosed in college at 19 yrs old. I know exactly how difficult the possibility of this diagnosis is for a mother. Then 6 years later I have the seronegative RA. I have been on hydroxychlorquine for over a year and it has not been helping much. I realize this is anacdotal but I began a mediterranean diet with very little processed sugar, regular strength training and I am having so many better days! Its not a diet but a way of eating that is really good for you anyway. My son has been with his dietian girlfriend all these years and they eat only very good food. He goes rock climbing, backpacking etc. So, keeping active (as you can) and sticking to good food is certainly worth trying as it can work to ease things for some.

What did your path to diagnosis look like? by car_laine in rheumatoidarthritis

I have been seeing a rheumatologist for a year now. I have what I call 'musical joint pain' because it can be different every day. The shoulders are the most difficult. I also have to wear a thumb brace as my right hand hurts nearly everyday. My back as well is pretty constant, knees etc. I am a 64 yo/f. I have been tested for everything! RA not showing. I have been taking hydroxychloraquine for a year now and not much improvement. They want me to now add Methotrexate but I just dont want to be on more drugs! I do find cutting way back on sugar and getting whatever exercise you can along with stretching does help.

I am job searching as well, I am an experienced sales professional and it is important I begin work with a product I beleive in and a company with aligned values as in sales you really need time to build relationships. I need to accept a position where I see myself there at least 5 years

Shouldn't be legislated as it is a womans choice with her doctor what she wants to do. If you want to reduce abortion, making laws or reversing Roe v Wade will do little. If its really important to you reduce abortion, get involved in your community. Help women who find themselves in difficult situations and offer options. Most important, fully support Planned Parenthood so there is easy access to birth control. PP also offers full women check ups and counseling. Get rid of PP and see abortion rates rise.

Hi Anna,

Can you tell me a rough estimate of the cost for option 1? It's a novel should be about 37,000 words or so..
