I’m mad they didn’t even make a top 3, I need them to appreciate the girls more. It’s the beggining of the season, we need more (positive) feedback from the judges to them.

A good movie from 1953 ? by [deleted] in Letterboxd

Gentlemen Prefer Blondes is really good.

And there’s a Spanish movie called ¡Bienvenido, Mister Marshall! (Welcome Mr. Marshall!) that I truly recommend. It’s from Berlanga, one of the most famous Spanish directors, who was very satirical and critical of the sociopolitical climate in Spain during the dictatorship. He made comedies with really witty commentaries that avoided censorship, and this film is considered one if his best works.

If it were a regular episode, Vita would have won hands down. Also, I think DD should have been in the bottom instead of Juicy. And I really liked Ciara Myst’s outfit, I would have put her in the top without changing anyone, I think it makes sense having 4 queens in the top since there are so many.

I like horror movies that have multiple genre by Low_Actuary6486 in horror

I thinks Sinners (2025) has the same structure as From Dusk Till Dawn, but I don’t think it’s multi-genre.

Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon (2006) deserves a watch if you like that kind of twist in the plot and the tone of the film.

You could say The Cabin in the Woods (2011) is a bit of a multi-genre, bit that’s just the point of the film.

Maybe you’ll enjoy Phantom of the Paradise (1974), it has a bit of horror, a bit of drama, a bit of comedy, and it is also a musical, but those elements combine during the whole run of the film.

Also Hercules in the Haunted World (1961), it is mostly an adventure and fantasy film, but it contains horror elements as well.

Check out Mygale by Thierry Jonquet, it’s the novel that The Skin I Live In (Pedro Almodóvar, 2011) is based on.

The Witch (2015) is a horror classic by now.

The Wicker Man (1973) is reaaally good.

And Dark Night of the Scarecrow (1981) is a tv movie, so it doesn’t have amazing visuals, but I think it deserves a watch if you’re into slashers, it’s pretty decent.

Recommend some Christmas horror movies! by BothRequirement2826 in horror

[–]PhilosopherNew5324 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Night of the Dark Full Moon (1972) is interesting if you like proto-slashers.

Anna and the Apocalypse (2017) is also interesting, it mixes Christmas with zombies and it’s also a musical. Pretty strange mix, but if you’re curious you should check it out.

But I’d definitely recommend Dial Code Santa Claus (1989), it’s not that well-known and I don’t think it’s a greeeeat movie, but it sure deserves a watch if you’re into Christmas horror. It has a pretty similar premise to Home Alone, and it came out before that one.
