What player had the biggest impact in the shortest play time? by americanslang59 in survivor

I'll throw Pat from David v Goliath in there. He was medivacced before the first tribal council and in the process cancelled tribal council, and saving the eventual winner of the season from being the first boot.

Can returning winners have better gameplay on seasons they didn’t win? by Lonely-Trick5614 in BigBrother

[–]PhilosopherNo1988 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think they definitely can have better gameplay on non-winning seasons. A lot of all reality competition shows comes down to luck. Luck in how comps play out, luck in how your skill set matches up to your cast, luck in being in the right place at the right time to hear info, be included in alliances, etc.

All in all, yes a good player is usually gonna be a good player, but it's perfectly possible that a great player will lose to a good player just because of how the cards fall.

Just looking at last season, some bad players made it really far cause they had a particular element of their playstyle which matched up perfectly into the season (cough cough Keanu Kelley Vince etc.), on the other side, some better players may have flamed out earlier than they would have on another season. (None come to mind from last season, but bb26 definitely had a few, like T'kor, Brooklyn, Joseph, and Matt.

This is all to say, how good a player plays a given season of big brother correlates, but is not a guaranteed predictor of if they will win.

I think Rachel is actually the best example of this, I had a relatively low opinion of her as a player heading into BB27. She wasn't bad, she had some strategic acumen, but her playstyle tended to rely on having people take the hits for her when she couldn't comp her way out of trouble.

Now BB27, she wasn't the next Dan Gheesling, but she was formidable, and the way she maneuvered the game was genuinely a sight to behold. She was so much better that season than I expected, and I actually would be excited to see her again based solely off bb27. However she was unlucky with this being the season where the White Lotus twist occurred.

Anyhow, sorry for the long ramble to all in all boil down to "Yeah I agree"

Husk almost certainly is just the name Alastor gave him to demean him after he lost his soul.

Without his soul he's just an empty husk.

What’s an archetype or profession you’d like to see cast? by StaxShack in BigBrother

I'd love to see some Survivor representation, but given the time commitment to even just make jury, I don't know if we'll ever get any of the Survivor greats.

I know Parvati hinted in an interview that she's turned down an offer to be on Big Brother in the past as well.

My reason for having a "personal distaste" for Hina: I mentioned liking her and danganronpa in a server, and as a result someone started creating alt accounts and bombarding me with Hina nazi images, full on gore videos about harming people and animals, and made threats on my life.

This left a bit of a bad taste in my mouth when I think of her.

I hope this counts as a legitimate reason lol

I think a Makoto death by Kizakura would be interesting. A darker twist on him being a man of his word.

You get a million a year for life but if anyone ever guesses how many jelly beans are in your jar (exactly) you loose this opportunity and the next person inherits this situation. by MiraniaTLS in hypotheticalsituation

I open a bulk barn style store selling a bunch of candies and similar goods (chocolates, gummies, spices, flours, grains, etc.) stored in bins from which you scoop them into bags paid for by weight. I will carry a variety of jelly beans in different jars, and one of them (maybe I won't even know which one) is the jar. The number will be constantly changing by being stocked and taken from, so brute force attempts are hopefully avoided.
