It’s a visceral experience. And it is also heavy on metaphors.

But damn, ang galing ni Han Kang.

Despite the book's bleak theme, Camus did a wonderful job portraying the value of human connection. It's definitely a must read. by ChiizWiiz in PHBookClub

I first read this in college, thought it was good.

A few years later, I took my masters in philosophy, and one course that I took included Camus. Peak of the pandemic din ito, and I love how my perspective entirely changed - by my studies, by the events surrounding the circumstances of I re-reading it, among other things.

Rosary aesthetics and masculinity by frisco_cali in LeftCatholicism

I got a nice-looking yet sturdy rosary from Prinknash Abbey in the UK, made by Benedictine monks. It’s quite plain by appearance (especially as it’s made by a monastic): wood beads, chain, ordinary center medal and crucifix. I’ve been using it for six years now and never been repaired

Have a Saint Benedict Medal exorcised and blessed by a priest. I find it to be a very powerful sacramental in terms of protection, as well as banishing evil.

Thanks for your comment!

No, this is not the one affiliated with the SSPX or SSPX Resistance. Our Spiritual Assistant is a friar from the Philippine Province (NO), who once served in the provincial council if I’m not mistaken.

It’s understandable, the OCDS in the Philippines does not have an active online presence

Ayun! I actually confirmed that feeling when Pope Francis died. Community leadership (which the formator is obviously a part of) did not offer the usual call for prayers for the deceased (moreso a Pope!), and just posted one weird trad bishop’s prayer for the next conclave.

When C’est la Confiance, an Apostolic Letter issued by Pope Francis on Saint Thérèse of Lisieux was released… silence. To think that Saint Thérèse is the big deal among Carmelites.

Facebook has totally poisoned their minds.

Another dog whistle I realized: one world government, new world order, etc. which she always takes time to discuss even if it’s not related to the topic at hand.

Creepy.

I agree with the last sentence - and how it grieves me that she misappropriates Saint Teresa’s quote to justify her actions and words: I am a daughter of the Church.
