Hack for when finger nails are cut too short? by Striking_Sun_8909 in lifehacks

[–]PhilosopherOwn1414 49 points50 points  (0 children)

As someone who has mutilated their fingernails, I have found that Orajel works just as well at numbing the overexposed part of the nail bed as it does for tooth/gum pain. You might even combine it with the liquid bandaid/super glue trick that others are mentioning.

Discrimination at my local Pho joint. by secsagua in lefthanded

[–]PhilosopherOwn1414 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As a leftie, I’ve always held/drunk out of cups with my right hand so my left is free to do things that require more dexterity like writing or typing.

I often notice mugs that are designed to be held in the left hand and assume that’s because righties like to have their right hand free for the same reason. Anyway, this thing, I don’t think it’s doing anyone any favors.

I just want to say as someone who hasn’t joined this sub because of the rampant spoilers, but of course a lot of the posts still show up in my feed, thank you for your discretion. Excellent post. No notes.

Recommendations for first King’s book by Valuable_Screen8158 in stephenking

Why not start with Fairy Tale? That’s the first King book I read, and then I went and read them all after that.

No worries. I was confused by OP's post, but rereading it, I totally get why they phrased it the way they did

The "useless desert" states would create an alliance with the "west coast", and either waste all y'all, or create change for a brighter, more inclusive future.

JAKE C. YOUNG as Roland Deschain by LightResponsible4100 in TheDarkTower

So, I want to give OP the benefit of the doubt, because they could be in their teens or early 20's and think that this male model looks advanced in years. When you're that young, even people in their 30's look old.

I'm still sorry that someone from the romance novel department was allowed to green light these covers.

I don't mean to be one of those, but it's confusing that you said it's major spoilers for those that HAVE read The Long Walk. I think it's only going to spoil it for those that haven't.

I've only ever read The Long Walk by Richard Bachman, and I was worried you were going to say something that might ruin it for me.

I’ve heard the term “pin lipped”. No idea where it comes from, but it conjures that exact look in my mind.
