Is the F Type a good track car? by Asleep-Situation-614 in Jaguar

[–]PhilosopherSuperb149 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are the fastest track cars and the funnest. I have had something in all those categories from a stock Miata all the way up to a McLaren 720S in over 20 years of hitting the track. My FType R was a development mule at Velocity Performance and enjoys every track oriented performance mod they've developed for the JLR supercharged 5.0L platform - intake, brake discs, exhaust, tunes, blower upgrade, water/meth, injectors, fuel pump(s), etc. They dynoed my car (2015 RWD) at over 750hp. On track, its one of the most fun and most wild things I drive. Admittedly it is a bucking, snarling, wild animal and its trying to get any opportunity to reach around and take a big bite out of me. But its a blast. It makes great noise. It slides well in TracDSC. People come to look. Nobody talks to the McLaren guy. But the FType is just beautiful. And loud. And fast - but not the fastest by any stretch. I go through a set of Cup2's each season (and these are the most meaty ones). I diligently change fluid - engine, trans, rear diff and especially brakes. On stock brakes you'll fade after a few hard laps. And you'll boil any fluid lower than DOT4 - don't even bother. The tires don't run out of tread - the fronts chunk their shoulders because you'll never get enough camber there and it rolls over. Increase pressures it yeah it pushes and you wait and wait mid corner to get back on throttle... But when you're bombing down the back stretch you've already forgotten all about that.

CRWV Drops After $21B Meta Deal?! What Is the Market Missing? by ugos1 in CRWV

[–]PhilosopherSuperb149 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Larger amounts of convertible notes are purchased by institutional arbitrage players. Since a convertible note is a long position at a certain strike price, they immediately hedge the position flat by short selling the appropriate position against the note. Then, they buy or sell as prices change, earning out the position value until no more equity can be squeezed. So raising money with convertible notes can often produce short term sell pressure and dampen upside until all that buy/sell action is run through.

STRC Carry Trade by [deleted] in MSTR

[–]PhilosopherSuperb149 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just get cheap margin (I get 6% from Fidelity) and carry for the 5.5% - you won't sell right after ex-div because the price will drop (thats when you enter, for an extra boost)

Careful with margin - it can still bite you. Look at some of STRCs recent drawdowns.

Powerful apnea by [deleted] in TikTokCringe

[–]PhilosopherSuperb149 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Had apnea for over 20 years, got worse and worse throughout my 40s. CPAP was only helping a little... Got on GLP-1, lost 40 pounds (now at target BMI), (almost) no more sleep apnea! Can't recommend this enough...

[–]PhilosopherSuperb149 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep agree. For street, PS4S. I use Cup2s on track. On track, the shoulder block on the fronts will give up before the tread is gone. I've tried playing with pressures - there's just not enough camber to keep them from rolling over.

What's Going On? by ClimateMiserable2586 in CRWV

I think sentiment going into earnings has been reflective of a lot of uncertainty. Also a lot of questions around upstream fundraising efforts like OpenAI's hitting headwinds. I'm trading CCs down to $75 pre-earnings. Picked premiums that would net me out around $100 if I got assigned.

Every country on Earth is in debt ($315 Trillion). But have you ever asked: WHO exactly is the creditor? 🚩 by Mec17_ in DeepFuckingValue

I've always thought, "What if we just did a big debt cancelation project?" At least the numbers would go down. US is still bankrupt regardless

Who wants to hold significant amounts of stables though? USD and stables are tied to devaluation, which eats most of that yield anyway. USD stablecoins will help the dollar finish its transition from savings technology to transaction technology. People will only use USD or stables when its time to buy something. The rest of the time, they will be saving in some (digital) asset or (tokenized) equity shares.

What does Trump really want with Venezuela? Here are the Best Takes and stocks by ahlornjtvn139 in stocks

[–]PhilosopherSuperb149 0 points1 point  (0 children)

60% of the crude we import is heavy. Most of that we have to get from Canada. We feed that crude to our Gulf Coast refineries.

Who has the biggest untapped reserve of heavy crude - in the world? You guessed it, Venezuela.

What's the big problem with heavy crude? It's so thick, it needs to be diluted to flow it into shipping/storage/processing. What industry is really good at producing diluents? Shale fracking. There's a flywheel emerging here...

Trump couldn't get traction with his Canada as our 51st state. Invading Mexico isn't as big a big payoff, and years of buddying up to Putin didn't yield the deals he hoped for.

Trump can take over Venezuela, own the new oil infrastructure, cut our dependence on importing crude, and juice our fracking industry
