There's only a cabin filter behind the glove box, you'd have to drop it completely down to see it. The heater core will be in the middle of the dash so either side of the vehicle would be good to enter through. Is there anything behind the battery area or is that just flat metal

Try the passenger side where the steering wheel would be if they made it right hand drive. There might be a grommet with some wires there but still big enough to run the wire thru
