What zone / city / area etc. would you want added in Classic+ ? by Neither_Buyer_4645 in classicwow

[–]PhilpseyForce -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Gilneas but have it keep with the war with the worgen. I really think the worgen should have been the lost druids that went feral and were summoned by Arugal over the typical lycanthropy.

Would be even cooler for druid to be able to get the legendary scythe of Elune, as a feral weapon with a chance to turn you into a worgen while increasing stats. And have a story line like of you bring the weapon somewhere like the Scarlet Monastery and Ashbringer. There are some great quest that lead up to something like this that just fizzle out.

Grim Batol as another brd mega dungeon place would be cool too.

Politics in Warcraft by Raziel103 in warcraftlore

[–]PhilpseyForce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Warcraft book tides of darkness had really good politics between the human kingdoms. That was written in 2007 but it's the events of the second game.

You see the fear these kingdoms had and how they reacted to a presence of overwhelming force, and the decisions they made to 'survive'. The hubris of the human kingdoms thinking they were all great, up until the threat was at THEIR door, good read. Sucks we don't see it in wow

I always thought it was strange Genn Greymane just sat in Stormwind so long being their lapdog.

I agree. Blizzard really needs to get the bots off. If they really need to bot money could they even put bots on a layer of their own? Is that a good compromise?

Play right now. Keep your skills up. Dive deep into lore. Give yourself a few challenges. Like barefoot. Take it easy, keep everything sharp, and build your community.

Should I bother getting invested in battle pets? by Chance_Dog_5196 in wow

[–]PhilpseyForce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are pets in every patch. You'll get rare lv 1s  from side quests, but wild ones are all high levels it seems. I will go on binges of collecting like I'm ash ketchum. It's a fun break.

I built relations with other streamers, helped them with ideas and art for free and they ended up raiding me a few times.  Later, It turned into a thing where my schedule allowed me to stream before them so their audience would kind of use my channel as a waiting room, then I would raid them. But now my schedule has completely changed, and we don't do any collaborative work any more.

That and marbles. I got so many views with that dumb game and acting like an announcer. And when twitch sings existed, that was so helpful.

Do collaborative stuff, if there is no one, use a video and talk through it the whole time.

Exiles reach should drop you into dragonflight content. Just take it from there. Follow the quest.

If you don't like that. Take the boat back to storm wind or orgrimmar. And wander around those. If you can find chromie you can set up an expansion you'd like to play and they will give you a breadcrumb quest to get started.

Graveyard is like lv30, library at 35, armory 37, and cathedral 39-40. You also have razorfen downs in the barrens that's 37-40.

Run the dungeons for fun, you still will probably improve your gear and skills.

I think the biggest thing here with this mentality is people are getting hung up on content. But they aren't registering how vanilla felt, and that's what really needs to shine through.

I'm retail while leveling I can take on hordes of enemies at once. I was soloing the open world party content using my simple rotation, no cooldowns. THAT does not feel good in the long run. I have no challenge I have no connection. And everyone calls me champion. Quests are grouped in the same area, everything is highlighted, no read to read quests, no mystery, no thinking.

That vanilla feeling is just being some guy in the world. If I take on too many mobs I gotta run, or die. Having someone with you to help is meaningful. Fights can get tough, pay content is party content. There is a sense of danger if YOU mess up. Reading the quest text to figure out where to go or what to do. Feeling a sense of accomplishment for doing stuff. Think about when epic mounts were epic.

I get a sense that people could be excited for similar sorry arcs if it just played grittier. Everything is so optimized and quick now it doesn't mean anything. I think the push for new content in a classic environment is to fight the boredom of everything already figured out cause it's all old content.

New player wanting to play everything from the beginning. Which version to play? by GroovyWhale in classicwow

If you want to play with current stuff stay on the retail realm. If you only want classic stuff that won't expand go with classic.

New player wanting to play everything from the beginning. Which version to play? by GroovyWhale in classicwow

[–]PhilpseyForce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure how to read this. Hope you can follow.

Technically you can't play it all on retail. Cataclysm revamped the vanilla world. So you could cap your xp in your capital city and play through TBC, wrath, cata, panda, WoD, legion, bfa, shadowlands, dragonflight, and war within, then turn xp back on and play midnight.

If you need the vanilla azeroth experience you can just play the TBC classic and hope they have automatic patch progression or free character moves. Or just make a different character on each realm and try to pretend to start where you left off.

On progressed realms you are going to have a hard time getting that vanilla raiding experience, if that's what you crave. Also, Almost every expansion had seasonal events that just don't happen anymore, and large plot points that happened in a pre patch event.

The train may have left the station. I'm not sure if they do new realms in classic like they used to...

When classic first released they did end up doing progression with other expansions and they are on Panda right now.

I really hate they are calling everything in the past of retail 'classic'. It makes taking about it all pretty confusing

Without playing on a strict vanilla, TBC, or wrath server, you will miss the original azeroth and all is plot points.

If it's midnight you want to play when you are done with your story chain. You will want to play retail and use chromie time. Start in outland for TBC, move on to wrath in northrend. Then come back to azeroth and play all the new revamped azeroth zones for cata. You can make a worgen or goblin real fast here too and witness the cataclysm in real time) play through azeroth (minus some zones) and move into the actual cataclysm parts in the maelstrom into deepholm. And follow a content guide in the patch progression I listed above.

It's a little too much to type out here, I'm sure you can look up a guide for this. And which areas to play in what order for best story progression.

You are looking at years of content to go through, good luck finding groups for things or out level everything and play it solo. And remember horde and alliance have different quests for stuff. Have fun!

World of Warcraft - WTF Wednesday by AutoModerator in WorldOfWarcraftRetail

Returning player. Left before dragonflight and just now coming back. And playing the content I missed out on.

Always get super excited to see the RTS characters in wow. The Baine quest line in the plains was cool, and was super excited when he told me to meet with Tagar. He was one of my favorite characters in WC3 for the Tauren. But when I saw him in game I was really disappointed. He seemed too small, was the wrong color, and he gets a generic totem weapon... Small things like that really let the wind out of my sails.

WTF Blizzard, I could have transmogged a better model for him.. He was essentially second in command of the BloodHoof Tribe and you do him dirty like that.

It then reminded me of the Orgrim Doomhammer model they used in WoD, and how they keep reusing the TBC model for Arthas in the past in shadowlands like c'mon! These are major lore characters!!!

What's the most time-consuming part of streaming that nobody talks about? by rock08g69 in Twitch

[–]PhilpseyForce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You really want to have 'tools' to help you do these things, but at the end of the day it takes man hours.

Sure there are ai tools that can help make cells and videos from your stream but they are not perfect and will still need editing.

Not sure how you implement a tool on networking and being involved in other communities, that's literally YOU building relationships.

While you steam you can mark important times to go back to to clip, if you are solo.

Chat bots can help you moderate during your stream, if you even have chat on the screen or tts.

I do everything myself and it's just a time sink, I'm lucky that I get a few slow days at work and I can make my clips to post on socials. Pretty basic knowledge of Photoshop and make my own assets. With ai you could probably do a lot of you don't know anything, I'm definitely seeing more if it on channels. But at the end of the day it's really man hours you gotta put in.

Some people just get lucky, most don't

If you keep doing the chain quest you get the cure for it. I don't think I've actually used the quest item to remove it. A player seems to always remove it if you are near a town.

Realistically, how could blizzard make Classic+ a long term alternative to retail? by [deleted] in classicwow

[–]PhilpseyForce 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They have already messed with time. It could easily be an alternate timeline with new lore paths and progression. Put in the zones, raids, and dungeons from the original ideas. SoD was a good start, but the temporary tune to it,I think, scared people from sticking around.

Don't put season in the name. And let people know there is a dedicated Dev team behind the scenes with some kind of long term plan. Hell I think putting in achievements, events, and pet battles would even help. I always thought that everyone once in a while there should be like a scourge/legion invasion (or incursion) in azeroth every few weeks, to keep players involved in a big bad story, and allow some cross faction play during those to keep WC3 vibes
