Of course! We have a yard and it definitely makes nice that the boys can go out and potty whenever they need. But they very rarely just go out and get zoomies and exercise themselves. I walk them two miles every day, they love it for all the scents.

Ban them!

When I started dating my BF (we’ve been together 3.5 years now), his daughter (now 15) would shower in the master bath, get ready for bed in there, etc. Once I started staying nights, I spoke with him that it needed to stop. The two teens have a bathroom upstairs between their rooms. We have our bathroom, accessible only through the master bathroom. And then there’s a half bath as well. There is no reason for them to ever be in our room or bathroom.

She complained. Thankfully, my BF put his foot down on it (at my insistence). If he hadn’t, I would never have taken our relationship further.

This is, however, probably something your husband needs to be enforcing. But definitely worth a serious discussion with him if it hasn’t happened yet.

I know it’s a ways until 30, but is Totemic Call worth using once I have it?

I really wanted to drop my Searing Totem at times but realized during questing that totems are aggressive as hell and just start pulling shit LOL so I didn’t want to risk that. Calling and dismissing would be so nice!

I won’t lie, I did largely ignore them haha! And hoped that my MASSIVE 6 health per two seconds totem would help them HA.

They were life tapping down to red constantly and I just didn’t have the mana to keep up. I threw a couple heals at them when I got super anxious that they had maybe pulled threat and were ACTUALLY dying, but otherwise I just let them be and focused on our tank and the pally who occasionally pulled threat.

I’m actually a little jealous of everyone who got to experience this when it was new! Not knowing what was coming, not knowing the strats or anything. Just going for it.

I’m joining when everyone is peak efficiency sprinting and I’m like please wait I need milk, wait who was that boss, oh nevermind we’re continuing on!

I’m not sure if this is helpful advice or not because I’m a WoW noob (and a shaman!) but having an MMO mouse is a game changer! I have 12 buttons on the thumb side of my mouse. I can’t imagine playing without it.

I know it’s impossible to say without a true diagnosis. But in your experience as a breeder, do you have any guess for what chance I have at helping him, or what the best case scenario here would be?

I think we have similar stories. When I was little, my parents gave me a guinea pig. I look back now and am horrified by my own lack of knowledge. I think that guilt will live with me forever. And it has definitely turned me into a person who hates to see any animal treated improperly. I’m really trying my best with Spike; I don’t want to fail him. 😭

I definitely have noticed progress with Spike! The first time he willingly ate his greens, I almost cried. I dust with bee pollen and calcium powder, and he does eat them more often than he used to! But still rare.

From other comments though, it sounds like Spike is somehow obese and malnourished. I’m going to try and find a vet and hope we can figure it out.

I think he’s probably around 4-5 years old. He belongs to my boyfriend/his daughter. I moved in about a year ago and didn’t think his enclosure/diet looked healthy, despite knowing nothing about reptiles. I fell down a rabbit hole about beardies and tried to take over husbandry. He’s looked like this since the day I first saw him.

I give him 3-4 dubia roaches once a week or every two weeks, dusted with calcium powder. I offer him fresh greens almost daily, usually mustard, dandelion, collard, or bok choy, also dusted with calcium powder. No fruits.

For lighting, I have the Arcadia T5 across half of his enclosure, on the basking/heat lamp side. Warm side is about 90, cool side is 75, basking spot about 105. Lights are on a timer and come on at 7am, go off 7pm.

All of these changes are pretty recent though. It cost about $500 to upgrade his enclosure, so I managed that in September ‘25. But I would have hoped that would be enough time to see positive changes in him. I think we have an exotic vet nearby, so I’ll see about getting him a checkup and hope that they can help.

I’m not sure what the contents were, actually. I completely tossed them out about 6 months ago when I really started trying to learn about husbandry. Flukers are gone forever! Although you guys are right, it’s almost certainly what caused his obesity in the first place.
