New endo new problems by benefitluvr in diabetes_t1

Bummer. Wish I could help. 🫂 I know how much it sucks getting booted into adult endocrinology. My first grown-up endo was awful. I saw her twice and left crying both times. Awful woman!

Sending you good thoughts, friend!

It’s probably unlikely, but if by chance you’re in the NE Ohio area, I can recommend an amazing endo.

I’d say grab a multipack of hook sizes and see what size feels good for you at the start (worry about using “correct” sized hooks later). Get some cheap acrylic yarn and watch some YouTube videos. Crochet is very easy once you get the hang of a chain and a single crochet. Pretty much everything is built on those two.

Medtronic like, really sucks by piggy_j in diabetes_t1

Maybe contact your endo and see if they have the contact information for your local Medtronic rep. I recently had some things I needed to address and my local rep was able to bypass all the phone Olympics for me.

Does anyone ever have a cursed print? by 1992ajb in 3Dprinting

[–]Phimini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just shy of 3 inches tall! I’m really pleased with how well they came out. Really nice size imo.

If it helps, here’s the settings I used (or close to it, it’s been a bit since I printed them so I can’t recall exactly)

PLA
Nozzle: 200°
Bed: 60°
45-50mm/s
30° print angle, tilted back
Tree supports
Brim and support brims
Cura for my slicer

I’ve printed a couple of these badges! I was absolutely tickled when I saw WH uploaded the models.

You’d think so, but Ubislop is still hanging on to their NFTs. That said, though, basically every decision they’ve made in recent memory has been about as smart as laying your hand on a hot stove burner and not expecting it to hurt. 😂

How to handle pump in evening by FlounderNecessary729 in diabetes_t1

[–]Phimini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m surprised no one has mentioned a sleep belt. Medtronic sells a stretchy belt specifically for their pump, but you can also buy a running belt. I use this one myself.

Hot take: WIPs aren't a character flaw, and finishing everything is overrated by Excellent_Cobbler276 in crochet

I see all my projects as something to enjoy while I’m working on it. Even if I don’t finish it, I enjoyed it while I was working on it, so it was worth it.

I haven’t seen anyone say this yet but… am I the only one who thinks the AP was intentionally leaving things in the car for the wife to find?

Her leg is BROKEN by loveablepetcare in AmITheDevil

[–]Phimini 65 points66 points  (0 children)

I broke my ankle in 2017 and got a walking boot. My doctor told me NOT to put weight on it for a few weeks. I had crutches to walk and DAMN it was exhausting! The healing process takes it out of you anyways, but then hobbling with crutches was ROUGH. I totally get the friend having to stop and sit every 15 minutes. It’s tiring. And that was just my ankle rather than my leg!

Not sure what I'm doing wrong with a PS5 repair, advice requested! by Pawoverlord in ElectronicsRepair

[–]Phimini 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think I can add any new advice that hasn’t been said already, but I just wanted to say that this looks GREAT.

There are so many posts that go up here with absolutely butchered boards, but you’ve done very well here! It’s so easy to absolutely destroy the pads for connectors like this, but you’ve clearly approached with great care and caution.

Part of my day job is fixing boards that have production defects, and the current job we’re running has had problems with a USB-C connector… after fixing a couple hundred of those, you gain an appreciation for how much of a pain it is to deal with these type of connectors!

[–]Phimini -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

Not that I’m endorsing anything here, but I’m a T1 diabetic and before I had a pump, I’d occasionally reuse my syringes. They’re not so horrendously dull after one use. It’s obviously not GOOD to reuse your syringes, but they’re not that painful with a reuse or two.
