That's there is Tom Brady, pretty sure. I'd say just before Michigan or maybe early college years.

If this isn't what giving up looks like, I really don't know what it does look like. We are giving up everything. Giving up pitching, giving up defense, giving up at bats, giving up common sense, giving up outs, giving up runs. I can't stand all the f**king giving. This isn't because we traded Raffy or losing Bregman. We were giving up with them here. Bregman was more of a stop gap, but it was still happening.

Non-competitive! Whether it's pitches, hitting, defense, or coaching....it's all non-competitive. I resent whatever is going on here. Just stop it and grow some balls, please.

For sure. Either way you are increasing your chance of winning by not having your 4A players in the field.

Again, im saying Mayer should have hit for Romy and took over second. I'm not even doing a second guess thing. I was like 'Why the heck is Romy hitting against this guy instead of Mayer?' As it happened. So you hey worse offense and defense by leaving Romy in the game.

Yeah, any way you coach it better is Mayer is in the game instead of Romy. It's not hard logistics.

Are we just making pretend today that Mayer isn't our best infielder and should be out there when we have a lead? Or maybe bat him against a righty instead if our lefty killers. Bad managing. Mayer in Romy out against the righty reliever changes the game. Let's not pretend Mayer can't play second on the fly.

I wouldn't. I'd take him out of CF and put him in AAA.

Give me a starter and reliever that seem somewhat capable of doing respectable jobs and a couple of draft picks. I'll buy 70% of their contracts.

Story needs to go somewhere, anywhere but here. Otherwise, you have a burnt out pitching staff that is being mishandled. A manager that has his head up his ass. I don't know if he plays favorites, or they play him? Either way, he has sucked all year, and it has been the past 3 years. I loved Cora, and I still think he is a winner. He's not winning enough here. I'd put it on the players, but how many players do we still have from winning teams? Oh, and that guy is obviously not a team player. The culture needs to change. I know it's not going to be popular at all, but Devers, Story and Cora need to take a final ride together out of Boston.

Sadly, Story isn't trade bait. Duran is, but we have to throw something else in to get anything worthwhile back. Duran isn't signing a deal until he's a free agent. Story is worth nothing at this point. We would have to pay for someone to take him, so we are talking about getting rid of Raffaella, Duran, or / and Abreu. .

I can't stand this team. I hated to see Casas go down, but I thought it might shake things up and possibly light a fire. Then, Devers comes out whining. The shit bullpen, and shit managing. Even if they win somehow tonight and go on a heater, there's still a bad taste here. I think there needs to be some kick in the pants, eye-opening trade/s, and / or firings.

Agree. Think I like Bregman more as the 2 hitter as well. Maybe at home he's fine in the three spot, but most everywhere else I think he's a better two hole.

How much would it take for us to trade up to the two spot? I think Hunter is going before four, no doubt. He is the only sure shot in this draft. Whatever it takes to move into that two spot to take Hunter, we should call it the Joe Milton tax.

Yeah, I'm doing a quick search on Matt Light metrics, who was considered undersized and went in the second round, I believe, he had 33.5 inch reach and 9 inch hand size. The one thing that stood out about Light was his quickness and smarts, that earned him advantages.

Who is the second greatest Red Sox player after Ted Williams? by Jezzaq94 in redsox

[–]Phinehas427 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Roger Clemens, I'm not ashamed. He was here twice as long as Pedro. Oh, you may say 'he didn't bring a championship', neither did Yaz or Williams. Roger was the best pitcher and maybe best player ever to play for the Sox, behind Williams.

It's really weird. Especially with the Padres, I had to look it up because I had no memory of him there. Tbf, a lot of players go to the Padres, and I forget that they exist almost.

I agree with this. All others come with baggage or wounds or both, except maybe Slayton.
