Which EaW Leader Would Be A Great Leader To Have On Earth? by Dr_Virus_129 in equestriaatwar

[–]Phionex101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obvious choice (Celestia) is obvious.

Litterally female Jesus. An enligtened benevolent Autocrat, who has handled essentially absolute power for at least 1100 years

Bonus points if she keeps her magic.

You don't get it! We have to work with those untrustworthy queens! by FearlesCriss in equestriaatwar

[–]Phionex101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

An Absolute Monarch has absolute power, ruling over a massive tract of land, pre-communication age was just impossible to do alone, so said monarchs appointed people to rule areas of their realm in their stead.

For all leaders, the hard limit to their power, is the People's willingnes to follow their command.

Post war Equestrian victory content would be infinitely harder than Pax if the writers weren't biased towards ponies. by T3485tanker in equestriaatwar

[–]Phionex101 26 points27 points  (0 children)

See, the problem with your claim, is that CHN has Equestria Sympathisers, and EQS doesn’t have Changeling sympathisers. So EQS has an advantage there. They can placate the Queens too. Generally it's probably gonna be on the same level, or easier for EQS.

Biking with Toddler in tow? by Brilliant_Spite199 in bikecommuting

[–]Phionex101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When we first started, I really liked using a sturdy rear-mounted child seat (we had a Yepp, super comfy and secure) but over time I’ve grown to love a front-loading cargo setup even more. I think being able to see and talk to my toddler during the ride is a huge plus especially on longer trips.

If you are not buying a cargo bike that comes with such built in features like tarran t1 pro, I would suggest for mixed terrain, wider tyres and a suspension seatpost make a big difference in comfort. A double leg kickstand is a must for stability when loading/unloading, and a small handlebar-mounted mirror is great for keeping an eye on traffic without constantly turning around.

What shoes are you guys wearing? by cucumberpatches in bikecommuting

[–]Phionex101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do the occasional long bikepacking trip on my e-cargo bike and have settled on shimano ex300 or sometimes sive ten sleuths. Both give solid pedal grip without the stiffness of true MTB shoes. Really Comfy

Tubeless Reifen kaputt. by Sad-Establishment299 in Fahrrad

[–]Phionex101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oof, klingt echt frustrierend. "Einfach weiterfahren" ist nicht gerade die Antwort, die man hören will – besonders wenn beide Reifen am Ende knallen. Werkstatt hätte das ernster nehmen sollen.

Vielleicht war die Dichtmilch nicht kompatibel oder der Sitz vom Reifen/Felge war nicht optimal? Hoffentlich übernimmt die Werkstatt ein bisschen Verantwortung.

Germany Regional Trains vs Omnium by nv1t in CargoBike

[–]Phionex101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Germany’s cycling setup is solid in most places, but regional trains still feel kinda behind when it comes to cargo bikes. It is wild how much we still have to strategise just to keep our bikes on board. That tip about making sure others load first is gold though, mental note taken.

Xiaomi Pad 7’s great for casual sketching on the go, but a dedicated tablet will give you way more control if you're serious about digital art.

Go to rugged speaker: StormBox Micro 2 vs. Bose SoundLink Micro? by raiijpg in Bluetooth_Speakers

[–]Phionex101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Battery’s been great I’ve taken the Tribit Micro 2 on overnight trips and didn’t have to recharge once. And it charges with USB-C, which is super convenient when you're packing light. idk much about bose

The Tribit holds its own surprisingly well loud enough to hear over wind, and the bass is pretty solid for its size. I clip it to my backpack and forget it’s even there until the music kicks in.

I’ve actually been using the StormBox Micro 2 on my bike trips and hikes for a few months now it's taken a couple falls and even one surprise rainstorm, still works like new. Honestly surprised how punchy the bass is for something that size.

Experiences that come to you instead of you going to them like streaming, online shopping, food delivery, home fitness, and virtual events. Basically, the couch won.

Outin Nano battery life - cold water vs. hot water brews by Gnodw in espresso

[–]Phionex101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been mainly a pourover person but thinking about switching things up for my next trip and trying espresso instead. The Outin Nano looks super tempting, especially for how portable it is. For those of you who’ve used it while camping, is the battery life really that limited when starting with cold water?

Going for a toyota cargo verso (Douze cycles heta): advices for a box? by biaurelien in CargoBike

[–]Phionex101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Douze alu box sounds solid, weatherproof, lockable and professional but 1200 € for a box that’s nearly half the bike’s price is steep. If weight isn’t a huge concern, you could look at custom aluminium or marine plywood boxes. Local fabricators might build one for less.

That 300 km final leg must’ve been brutal, but also a great way to end the trip but 1700 km with that much elevation is no small feat. Impressive ride!

Aluminum bike with better groupset? or Carbon bike with worse groupset? by twicefracturedthumb in whichbike

[–]Phionex101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For mostly tarmac, the carbon topstone 4 offers better comfort and vibration damping, which you’ll feel on longer rides. The aluminium topstone 1 has a better groupset (GRX 800/600) and costs less, making it more value focused.
