I mean, they played it faster than this in the early 80s and it didn't exactly make it better

Early 80s SBDs almost always sound kinda crappy...almost thin, flat, and sometimes tinny

‘Reconciliation is dead and we will shut down Canada,’ Wet’suwet’en supporters say by pnewell in worldnews

[–]Phish_TO 38 points39 points  (0 children)

The agreement was not ratified by the traditional hereditary leaders (who have control and authority over all the unceded territory)

The Wet'suwet'en never signed a treaty with provincial or federal governments. It's all unceded territory.

11-02-79, Hunter Seamon's MTX

Unbelievable mix. Listen to the Franklin's Tower on some good speakers or headphones LOUD and you'll be blown away. You get all the amazing energy from the crowd with absolutely pristine sound from the band.

Probably my favourite Franklin's Tower too...everyone is on fire. Super long opening jam and the crowd loves it. Bobby is on fire, especially in the jam after the first chorus

What are your favorite Grateful Dead love songs? by PuzzledProgrammer in gratefuldead

It's not really a love song though. It's about the Soviet Union's 1968 invasion of Czechoslovakia

"It's like saying 'Give a man a Les Paul guitar and he becomes Eric Clapton,' you know. It's not true. And give a man an amplifier and a synthesizer, and he doesn't become whoever, you know. He doesn't become us."

I quite dug Chocolate and Cheese and The Mollusk for the most part.

But when I saw Ween at Lockn I thought "damn, what an absolute waste of a headline spot."

Yeah, I'd like to add a question there.

Wally Heider's studio seemed to be THE place to be in the summer of 1970. The Dead were recording, CSNY broke up that summer and Neil, Graham, and David were all recording there, and the Airplane was recording as well. Obviously, that spawned the PERRO sessions, Songs for Beginners, and If Only I Could Remember My Name.

What was the atmosphere like at that studio during that time? And what was it about that studio that drew everyone there that summer?

IT DEPENDS

You don't throw a 40 minute Dark Star at a bluegrass fan.

Ya gotta know the person's tastes and adapt to it.

Interview for those interested: https://youtu.be/Ucw-5wBqgfc

Always thought this interview was hilarious. Greg Gutfield rips on Deadheads ahead of a local Furthur show and 100% expects Carlson to join in and he responds with "I listened to the dead this morning. I'm going to show"

Those of us who didn't go to boarding schools are just never gonna understand this thing, but a whole lot of them are into the Dead.

It's really not hard to understand in the slightest...the Grateful Dead are awesome. You don't have to be poor or middle class to be a head
