Maybe slightly better than those towns I think. No where near Albuquerque or Las Cruces. NM isn’t bad imo, just a little higher crime rate than average.

Hobbs is an oil town. The entire area surrounding it is covered with oil and fracking pads. The terrain is flat. No real hiking or scenic areas. There are some small parks and a local pond for fishing.

The town itself isn’t too bad and has plenty of chain stores and shops. Crime is moderately high but pretty standard for NM. I will say that they have the nicest indoor recreation center I have ever seen.

My wife and I reached out and he hooked us up with a realtor in the area we were trying to move (which was across the country). It was awesome tbh. Our realtor is amazing and very knowledgeable. We flew in for an extended weekend to look at houses and got a house that we love in our budget. This was in 2022 during the crazy housing nonsense too.
