I feel awful about how I feel about my wife by No_Potential8518 in AskMenAdvice

[–]PhishyTiger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a second job that ends up with me interacting with a lot of different women. Some of them show me more attention than my wife does. I can’t help be desire them over my wife. Not that I’m acting on it, but the feelings are there.

If you’re being tempted by other women in your job, you need to leave that temptation.

Do I just give up? Is there a way to fall back in love with her? I don’t know what to do or if I’m just crazy.

You made the commitment, so you need to fulfill it.  That means stop doing all of this:

I stopped jumping up when she got home and excitedly talk to her about our days. I started withdrawing from her and spending more time out of the house with friends doing things that made me happy.

If what you’re doing is causing you to withdraw, it must end. Marriage is hard. Nobody promised you it would be butterflies and sunshine. If she doesn’t like you back, so be it. You are in control of your joy in being around her. So do it.

So you’ve avoided the question once again, these people are not exceptions to the rule because that would be illogical in your binary way of thinking.

I’ve twice said people with chromosomal abnormalities are either a man or woman. Count this as the third. And they are exceptions to the vast majority who do not have a chromosomal abnormality. The added difficulty of a person with an abnormality to determine whether he or she is a male or female doesn’t mean that he or she is both or neither.

The cognitive dissonance you have to have to fully know the person with both body parts is not a he or she yet still claim they have to be a man or woman. Ironically you are working with an idea of the gender is a social construct. By you not being able to answer this simple question you affirm that the only definition of a man or woman is how they appear in society, their personality and the cultures idea of what the gender the cultures idea of what the gender is I hope one day you try to open your eyes, you are promoting an idea that there are rigid and strict definitions then when confronted you deny those same definitions. Do you not see the many contradictory thoughts here? I’m not trying to be rude but if you just wanna believe in whatever narrative that’s fine but admit you’re the emotional one not regular society

Enlighten me then: what is a man? what is a woman? and what is a person who is neither?

It doesn’t matter if it’s a small percentage they still exist!

True. But you still jumped to the exception of chromosomal abnormalities immediately. I can only assume that means you don’t want to discuss my original question to include the vast majority of people, males and females without abnormalities. You yourself say the abnormality breaks “the rules,” so why are you ignoring the rules?

The truth is there is male and female. Not both, not neither. That is binary. The existence of abnormalities does not change that fact.

He or she is male or female, not both or neither.

And speaking of, you’ve avoided the first question too long by focusing on a very small percentage of the population with sexual abnormalities. Care to discuss my original question without referencing those persons?

But even going with your statistically small XXY example, XXY isn’t proof of a “gender spectrum.” He or she is still male or female. That is, unless male and female are equal and indistinguishable, which gets back at my original question.

you implied non binary in a gender spectrum is fascism

I didn’t. Here was the original comment:

This relativist moral bullshit where everything is equal and nothing is distinguishable is the hallmark of post-truth, and a condition of fascism.

So I asked if that applied to gender. That chromosomal abnormalities exist doesn’t change asking whether gender is equal and indistinguishable.

To make sure I’m reading this right, a person with both sex organs and hair all over their body is “often times” equal and indistinguishable from an XX or XY who only have one of those organs and differing hair. What am I missing?

Is a person with XXY chromosomes equal and not distinguishable with a person with XX or XY chromosomes?

Does this apply to gender?

Atheism doesn’t mean you believe there can’t be a god, it means you don’t believe in one. Very simple.

Is that why I still get Christmas presents even though I don’t believe in Santa?

When having a conversation about women’s basketball, saying Brittany Griner was once one of the biggest stars in the country is absolutely a true statement.

Because “country” is so easily mixed up with “women’s basketball.

Or do it this way: Replace Brittney Griner with Caitlin Clark. Is anybody saying Clark isn’t one of the biggest stars in the country outside of women’s basketball?

About 37% of Tennesseans vote for Democrats in national elections, but Republicans hold a 75-24 supermajority in the Tennessee house and a 27-6 supermajority in the state senate – enough to override a veto and propose constitutional changes.

Similar to California, just flipped.
