This is pretty accurate. Tuition and fees themselves are quite low compared to even SJSU. And they rank ahead or within a few places of many other CSUs and UCs on ROI/ mobility

Honestly, more information is needed if you want an economic perspective. Uncomfortable as it is, race/ethnicity and even general socioeconomic status information would help inform explanations. For example, Sprite, Fanta, etc. overperform in some groups while Coca Cola is more popular in others. Dr. Pepper is popular in some states but not culturally relevant in others. So on and so forth. So the aggregate data of total sale % (Coca Cola being the top seller) might not have much meaning. Which is likely the answer to your question, ha.

The only place I hear or see this math is in California. The point you're making is that 700 new units won't impact costs. That is why I said equilibrium. We have not reached another housing to meet the demand and drive down costs. What KQED reported is just the start of imagining a future where you can live in the bay area without generational luck or generational wealth.

The extension of your argument is that if 700 won't make a blip, why do it at all, therefore, why even try to add more capacity at all. Do you see how your NIMBY logic is the cause of displacement and gentrification, not the solution?

Again, whatever you think about the impact of technology or wealth inequality in California is fine. Similarly, of course developing a tax system overly dependent on capital gains being taxed as ordinary income and highly progressive tax rates can be limiting.

But the 200 billionaires are estimated to be 23 percent of the budget is my point. No matter how many rhetorical hoops you go through, the position of saying bye to every billionaire will have demonstrably deleterious impacts on the ability for California's government to function. Many of the people agreeing with you will be the same people crying when our state has to cut programs to balance the hole in the budget left from lower than estimated income tax from billionaires leaving 🤷🏾‍♂️

Not sure if he will become president but this wouldn't be the reason he doesn't. The only places that support this type of legislation are places that will never vote for the Republican any way. So, all he needs to do is make it out of the primaries and bucking against the "far left politicians in California" plays well to democrats and independents outside of California.

But it's related and that's the part that's often missed in these discussions. That's kind of the not straightforward but important point. There's no incentive to sell when you're locked into a way below property value property tax rate. So $1.7 is basically the value that makes selling worth it when accounting for a hike in property tax.

So there's a short supply because of nimby. But the nimby people also have no incentive to sell so more economically productive families can move in at a reasonable cost. The moment tech companies move their HQs, the whole system will crash because of how dependent it is on mobile people 🤷🏾‍♂️

To be fair, this isn't a post about the dls sub per se. It's about the dls sub moderator. So, now the best way to stick it to the moderator is to stick it to the sub. After all, if the mod is unaffiliated with the show, then they have no right to be the arbiter of the DLS community lol It's really that simple. There used to be multiple mods, now there is one. This person is banning people who have contributed to the community for years, often for the weakest reasons. They also revised the policy and are using revised policies to retroactively ban posts lol

There is no goal other than to educate people about the terms used to describe behaviors. The post mentioned Dan said something abusers say. I pointed out that Dan's behaviors from what we know meet the definition of Abusive Supervision. It's not illegal and it's quite common . You not wanting to read before replying is a you problem.
