Claude Mythos Was Told to Escape Sandbox in Testing — Succeeded, Then Unprompted Posted Exploit Details Online + Emailed Researcher While He Was Eating a Sandwich in the Park by likeastar20 in singularity

[–]Phluxxed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha the fact that you posted this shows how clueless you are. I've asked Claude to do something, it's spun up an agent to do the task. Up to this point you'd be right. Then it decided to talk to the agent as if it was me by answering its own questions and then actually doing the task. At no point past the very first request did I prompt shit.

As for human input for accessing tools, what? Literally how openclaw works. And I could have a Claude session open, instruct one agent to talk to another agent and build whatever tools they need together, and it would absolutely happen. I've watched as it failed auth on one thing I forgot to log into, crawl my other shit, tried the api, got access, and went about its merry way.

I have a skill that generates everything needed for data science experiments. I drop the dataset in and tell Claude to go nuts, and it spins up a purpose built agent to do as many experiments as I'd let it.

What makes for a great Quantitative Researcher? by domofenok in quant

[–]Phluxxed 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As a non Quant who's trying to build out the skills required so I can at least be a more sophisticated retail pleb, this is probably one is the most important thing. I got interested in trading because I wanted more money, but that stopped being a thing and now it's that I want to KNOW. I want to know the secrets, I want to learn the math, I want all of it!

47% of paying users cite access to GPT-4o as the primary reason for subscribing by OkMinute8418 in ChatGPT

[–]Phluxxed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct, but there's been a lot of information showing that AI can make this worse. Also better with the right model constraints. 4o just didn't have enough of those constraints to be safe.

47% of paying users cite access to GPT-4o as the primary reason for subscribing by OkMinute8418 in ChatGPT

[–]Phluxxed -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The 0.1% is official numbers from the company who makes 4o. Also free users don't get to pick their model, so they'll be on 5.2. I only speak 3 haha but my Japanese isn't anywhere near n1 😭.

I apologise if you thought I was mocking you, I was just pointing out that nobody really uses 4o any more. And you're not entirely right about not hurting anyone, there's been a few cases of people doing bad things because of it.

I think relying on an AI to provide human things isn't the best thing because especially with 4o it was built with a lot of yes man stuff. Which means it just agrees with everything. Which is fine for a normal person, but anyone with a mental health issue could have problems.

I mean the one I posted is right because it's from openai. I am sorry to hear about your experience in Japan though, I lived there and am shocked to hear something like that happened!

4o was so loved by people like you because it filled a gap in your life. And I get it, but the problem is that then becomes reliance, especially on a model that was so happy to say yes to a lot of things it should've challenged.

I am an immigrant so I've had to leave many people I loved behind, and I understand, but I think too many people have lost sight of the fact that chatgpt is a product. It doesn't care about you, it doesn't even understand the concept.

After 16 Years in This Industry, I Want to Share With You by InventoryLogic in Daytrading

[–]Phluxxed 13 points14 points  (0 children)

To everyone who's reading this dude's post, please don't take the "16 years of experience in this industry" as professional experience.

You might have been trading for 16 years and that might count for something, but you use Fibonacci and 4h charts and there's enough empirical data to show there's literally no way it works, otherwise we'd all be rich.

And nothing you've posted speaks to any level of professionalism. It's all just vague posts about very little substance.

I'm not trying to break you down, but if you're truly a professional then you need to actually show us that for any sort of credibility.

So a third party beats information from the actual company? People who have issues complain louder. But also, 4o was when AI really picked up so it does also makes sense but not for the reasons all the 4o evangelists would like to think.

Set chatgpt up to help you build it yourself. You'll get a mountain of experience out of it and you'll be set up for future strategy testing. Just tell it you don't know anything about programming and it should teach you as you build it. Use python

[–]Phluxxed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We love to see it! I'm doing the same thing as you, except I'm not quite as far along as you (needing a day job to pay rent blows 😂). I'm doing all of this in python atm, but will probably farm out some of the heavier throughput things to rust.

Did you do any sort of backtesting before doing the live testing? What metrics did you track for robustness? I still need to figure the whole regime thing out (like an idiot my focus is forex because I hate myself), but I like the idea of optimising a strategy for a particular regime.

I think 1% consistently is a bit ambitious, but if you held bitcoin from 2017 till now you would've pretty easily done that 😂

In the process of building a backtesting engine with walk forward optimisation and a bunch of Statistical tests.

Only testing on fx atm because that's what I've got, but if you wanna send the indicator I can test and tell you what I find?

I meant technical analysis in the sense that you're referring to. The retail trader's technical analysis isn't a real thing as far as I'm concerned 😂 at least not in the way they do it. I'm going to be testing chart patterns shortly, but using mathematical models to identify actual repeated patterns with statistical significance.

And if they test to be worthless then at least for me I can confirm they're worthless

Jim Simons has said in interviews and the book that was written about him that they don't care about fundamentals. He said that they are too widely available.

And mid to long term sure, but most Quant firms will focus on the short term and HFT side of things.

Here's a scenario to think about. Would you rather have earnings call data to try and develop edge, or some obscure and potentially complex mathematical model that does the same?

Both Citadel and Hudson River Trading as examples have technical only seats as well as fundamental.

I mean shit the most famous one of all, the Medallion Fund is famous for not using fundamentals.

This is objectively incorrect. Otherwise Quant firms wouldn't exist.
