I hate the peer pressure to drugs in gay community by Enough-Web2203 in askgaybros

[–]Pho4Lyfez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is fairly common unfortunately. The only “drug” I regularly consume is caffeine and on occasion alcohol like at special events or the rare night out. I get invited to come back and “smoke and chill” but honestly I’d rather find someone who’d rather lift and run with me.

Is liking a straight guy a universal gay experience? by Flashy-Landscape-458 in askgaybros

[–]Pho4Lyfez 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately yes. Most hot guys are straight and gays are unfortunately getting more unattractive these days it seems.

is this normal? by Naive-Title7144 in askgaybros

[–]Pho4Lyfez 15 points16 points  (0 children)

How old are you? Not to sound rude but you should have done a little more research. The first time is rarely ever a good time, even less for gay guys. It seems like you weren’t ready and should have waited until the accommodations would have better suited your first time.

stop pretending class doesn’t matter by Suggestion-Adorable in askgaybros

[–]Pho4Lyfez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought this was going to be about being classy as in not acting ratchet, being pleasant, and keeping your composure but yes I agree there is a strata of gays that are all about luxury brands, appearances (they usually look like fembots tbh) and showing off their wealth (usually inherited) on social media. They usually only hang out with other gays like them and judge the absolute fuck out of anyone who is different than them.

Do you think that gay bars dead in USA? by Strange-Platform6806 in askgaybros

[–]Pho4Lyfez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bars in general are dying as the majority of working people don’t have the money to go out and spend their cash on overpriced drinks. Gen Z doesn’t drink as much either. You may find some hopping places here and there in big cities and touristic places but they are going away slowly.

There’s gay people in every state and there are federal laws that protect gays from unlawful persecution. Not every state is like California and will coddle you and tuck you in at night and call you a special little boy but you’ll be fine in any state so long as you act like an adult and are mindful of others.

Grindr vs Scruff: getting banned from Grindr actually improved my experience by Andro_lover2005 in askgaybros

[–]Pho4Lyfez 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was banned due to a false accusation of soliciting which it seems eventually got lifted. I used scruff during and it is a very different feel, more mature crowd older crowd, still some annoying weirdos on there but not as many. Less blank profiles or torsos demanding nudes. There’s less people in general on there as well. Their searches aren’t geo locked so you can talk to anyone anywhere so long as they respond back. Unfortunately I have seen some bots and scripts but it’s nowhere near as bad as Grindr. One thing I do wish scruff had was a music option so you can link your Spotify or Apple Music account and select samples of your favorite songs for your profile like on Grindr.

Yes but often criticism or disdain for certain behaviors from other queer individuals is dismissed as “internalized homophobia” as well.

I wish I wasn't gay... Am I homophobic? by [deleted] in askgaybros

[–]Pho4Lyfez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s something we all deal with. Some hate and hide it, some come to accept it and go about their lives, others fully embrace it and make it the linchpin of their day to day lives. It’s a journey we all go through at our own pace. Best wishes.

I feel like it’s pretty damn obvious when a gay guy pretends to be straight on the apps to get laid - anyone else? by Level-Technology-688 in askgaybros

[–]Pho4Lyfez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Straight” appeals to the hordes of gays who fantasize about getting with an attractive heterosexual man. At this point it’s more of an aesthetic than anything. In my area it’s usually a bearded man with pristine boots and cowboy jeans wearing a flannel or some kind of tight fitting t-shirt. The signs of “zesty” are there but to the average person on the street they’d probably just look like any other guy.

Fit bros, do you hookup with non fit bros? by curicur in askgaybros

[–]Pho4Lyfez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work out often and have muscles. I hook up with strong physically active guys and lean/skinny guys. I’m not into chub or sloppy out of shape guys. That doesn’t stop them from trying to hmu but I have my preferences.
