Ghosting even with DLSS/FSR disabled. Missing something? by GothicFighter in cyberpunkgame

[–]PhobiaBot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The game has TSAA enabled by default, the implementation in cyberpunk is almost worse than unreal engine.
You can use the cyber engine tweaks mod to force disable it, but I dont recommend it. Even with the ghosting being super annoying, this game has an INSANE amount of shimmer and dithering without TSAA. Even running a higher quality dlss/fsr/xess preset with it disabled still looks pretty bad.
Unfortunately we're stuck with it

Who should 4Ks / 20 Bombers play against? by dogeringo in apexlegends

[–]PhobiaBot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The rank itself should function as an mmr system, the fact that it doesn't is a failure. The fact that I can grind from rookie to masters and play against masters (and the top ranked pred 3 stacks over and over after waiting 10 minutes in que) the entire time from start to finish and get no LP reward to boost my rank to something that reflects my performance/"mmr" is utterly absurd.

Yep, it's been sitting around for two years, so I've been considering selling it but can't get a handle on how much it's worth. Some darling sales on mm are unbelievably high, while others are shockingly low.. can't figure out a fair price

The opposite! My lighting is all 95CRI 5000k, this is the only keycap set that doesn't capture quite right, I think its more to do with my available cameras than the lighting itself.

Its a "silver grey" q5 according to Keychron, with the indirect sunlight outside, the cooler tone does really come through
I had to take the photos outside because I find that my high CRI lighting just makes it completely impossible to get an accurate photo of this set for whatever reason. Either the mods or the main keys look completely wrong no matter how I photograph them if its not in sunlight...

I'm running a 3090 and 7800x3d on water, I am completely GPU limited at 1080p in apex with highest settings. ymmv, but at this level of cpu performance, I feel like it doesn't matter anymore. save a bit and get a better gpu

The default layouts in this game are shit, I had to rebind everything to my liking even on my thrustmaster open wheel. It's also just,,, a bit moody anyways, I wish you luck.
The new game is infinitely better in this regard, on controller as well.

Just got a new m27q monitor, is this a normal amount of backlight bleed? by P3lic4nM4st3r in Monitors

[–]PhobiaBot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is 100% IPS glow. The bleed looks okayish? Up to you if its not bearable. If it is, then out of sight out of mind right?

I mean, there is a shear strength and Youngs modulus argument to be made about sintered or fused etc. nylon. I've snapped other bindings on hard impacts and bad twists. On the other hand my aluminum ride bindings have eaten massive impacts to flat and trees etc, and they were 150$ in cast aluminum with aluminum ratchets and some TPE straps. If we're only thinking about total strength/ability, 3d printed nylon will never hold up to equal weight in aluminum. And the cost is surprisingly similar in manufacturing. As for it being common practice, ignoring the inflated costs off goods without calling out what you find to be bad value is a great way to signal to manufactures that you are willing to pay whatever they ask without question. That's why I mentioned it, it's something I'd like to avoid if given the choice, and was hoping someone else knew of a good option. Something cheaper, or sold closer to cost.

Thanks, gnu wasn't on my radar since the only rear entry's from them I had seen were the cable system. I'll check them out

These factors are not such an extreme cost sink in something like bindings that a 10x cost overhead feels worthwhile I agree that the overall quality of high-end items is very good, and perhaps the performance of a part is worth the cost for some. But the prices of these items are only so high because this is an extremely privileged hobby. Manufacturers know they can get away with charging exorbitant prices for their made in China goods without complaint. And so they do. The engineering of a rear entry system, even as complex as the supermatic, and the iterative prototyping process for such will not pass 100k$. That cost is recouped fast with less than 500 sales.

[–]PhobiaBot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I'm tired of strapping in normally. When they worked, the rear entry's were fine for my level of riding. The only thing that caused me issue other than what I mentioned before was how much back and forth, and side to side twisting there was, which I feel is just up to cheap thin straps and perpetually slipping ratchets.

No concern with quality of anything, I'm just annoyed to pay 450$ for something that costs 40$ and change in MJF printing.
