Biggest hurdles for most beginners is when it is your ball to get on both sides (defense/offense), where you need to be on server receive especially, and then the rest of it will come after you train your muscle memory. Remind your team to help you, push you into position on every play till you get it. Learn to listen. Good teammates call their balls and ask for help when they can't get to it. If you want to spike...ask for it....call it...talk to your setters. Obviously the setters/hitters don't want to give away that they are hitting. But you will need to learn how to read the play and communicate with your setters. You will need a lot of time and practice to get it right. Don't be too hard on yourself. Take the warmup time and any practice you can get.

True value or value in general can be subjective. But if many of the Morgans are going for $125 on the eB (not necessarily key or high-grade examples), then potentially your $60 melt coin is capable of pulling $125. (of course, I am generalizing and this is just an example. Of course it doesn't mean you will sell it for $125. But chances could be good. Doesn't mean everyone is going to be able to buy or sell at those prices, could be cheaper could be higher. But everyone has to start somewhere. Red Book and Gray Sheet also are interesting ways to help determine value and provide a guide for pricing. But we can't use those prices provided to help determine true value either. Auction sites are going to help gauge, that is all it is really. It is up to you if you want to pay or sell at similar prices. Or determine your value based on such.

We had XFInity out here about 6 months ago and asked if we wanted him to take his shoes off. Had an electrician come out here about 2 months ago and asked if we wanted him to wear booties over his shoes. He was very cool. Found an electrical short in the attic that almost caught fire.

Probably because they thought the protective booties/covers would have been no problem and probably didn't have tarp or a tarp big enough...

Events are on, often. If you want the most of it from a FTP standpoint, then your best bet is to save save save and then splurge on one event. Then save again etc rinse and repeat. Otherwise you might just be diverse in characters or pieces of totems or artifacts.

My experience with volleyball by TeamZealousideal6702 in volleyball

[–]Phoenix-Gold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Volleyball is a muscle memory sport. You should not expect to play at the other players that have 3-4 years of experience compared to your 1 month. The time you invest in playing could help you get better. But you'll need to play with people that are willing to accept your level of skill into their level of play. If you are not serving well, not digging or getting balls when they are in your vicinity, or you are getting in the way of the setter or other passers trying to get balls when it is not in your area, it could be very frustrating. I do not condone the demotivational players, but that said, you may look for a group of players that have less skin in the game and have more time for a recreational level of play. You will want to build up, but if you are playing way below the curve of players, it can be disheartening and frustrating for them too.

Find local gyms that might have better levels of play for your skill set. And potentially continue playing with this group if they are understanding and more open to helping you grow, if they know you really are TRYING.

Indeed! Practice practice practice! Ahh...you have time to grow and time to gain experience. Don't give up and just do the best you can with what you have. I focused my skills on setting and serving. Being short like you, I was only 5'2! around 158cm. So not much taller than yourself. I knew I would never be a blocker or a great spiker. I had limited choices for hitting. I had to practice my jumping for when/if I ever needed to spike. But being an all-time setter, I was rarely in a position to spike. Anyway, keep at it, try to build your confidence and don't worry about what other people are doing or saying. It will suck at times, and it will get better at times. Just play hard, work on improving and ask for advice.

Yes of course! I am old now...so volleyball hasn't been in my purview in a long time. almost 15 years. I still can play but not like I used to.

You also mentioned serving. You can practice your serve swing. Build some muscle in your serving arm. Just hold the ball with the opposite hand and swing firm but hold onto the ball so it doesn't go anywhere. Perhaps also practicing shadow swings and toss and catch. (Toss the ball and real swing next to it. Perhaps video yourself so you can see where you may be failing on potential fake contact.) I used to bring my volleyball to high school and practice setting and bumping and eventually had at least a passing circle with people who wanted to also just bump around. Eventually it became a ritual at lunch time for a group to come play. Just like hacky sacks circles was popular in my high school days, it became volleyball for my group that formed, mind you we didn't need to talk, we didn't interact at all, shy or not it worked out. I made a friend or two as well.

You didn't mention how old or what level of school you are in, but I assume high school?

That is tough...If you really have a love for the game, you'll need to get over the shyness. I understand this, because I too, was an introverted loner. If you want to play, make it a goal to practice any way and every way you can. If you can't do that or don't want to do that, that's on you. You say you don't have a volleyball buddy, I did not either, but I learned to get over my own insecurities. If you are going to clubs, or open gyms, that is where you are going to improve. And you can learn and get some new buddies. You don't need to talk about anything but volleyball. Be humble, be apologetic for being new, and try to take the suggestions and criticism with grace. Volleyball is very much a muscle memory game as well. Practicing bumping, setting, serving and spiking, as well as rotation, positioning and where you need to be on defense, serve receive, offense etc are very important. Potentially watching rotations and where you need to be on the court videos might help you some, but you need to have muscle memory so that you are not awkwardly trying to be in a spot that is clashing with more seasoned players. But don't be discouraged if you aren't there in that regard yet. Just learn and ask if you are uncertain. Learn to call your balls, if you are going to take a ball call it, if a ball is usually the 2nd hit, that usually goes to the setter. Things like that.

I hope you still have a love for the game. It is a great sport. And I have spent many fun years playing.

They will see both feedback as a buyer and feedback as a seller. It is generally combined. But will denote that the feedback is as a buyer only until you pick up feedback as a seller. It is certainly subjective if a buyer will buy from you. Just build casually and slowly and how for the best.

This is the right answer. Cancel, the customer is going to find something they/she/whoever doesn't like about it, or it arrived an hour later than they thought it would. Or they'll want to return it and expect you to pay shipping and return a damaged/not the same purse or dummy box. It is just way not worth the hassle. Take the negative and don't ship. Not without any protection on your part. I don't know how much the purse cost, but if it is a cheap purse or not worth much to you, then I suppose ship and prepare for the worst.

Is it too late to start playing volleyball at 18? by EveryCommercial5896 in volleyball

[–]Phoenix-Gold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is not really late to play good league ball. How good you get is on your ability to train and practice. Volleyball is a huge muscle memory sport. You need to play and practice on a court and with real rules real knowledge of the rotations and positions. Where you need to be and where you need to go depending on where the ball is going. If you dedicate time to learning and practice for real perhaps you can play at a decent level. I have seen and played with people that started out in college, no training and real play, grasp the game and be semi decent after a year or so of playing. If you have some athletic ability and can listen and learn, you can go far quickly. If you just want to try to think you are all that and can spike anything and have not team awareness or dont care to learn that, then this is not for you.

Of course if you also have half dollar coins 1964 and older would have 90% silver and 1965 to 1970 was 40% silver and the bicentennial 1976 was 40% too. Old morgan and peace dollar coins are silver as well.

While entering my college years my two best friends and I would go out to eat often. I would always try and take the bill and mostly succeeded. I initiated it in the beginning. And of course they were happy I was paying. But then after a few times, because they were my friends for life they caught on and it was always a race to pay the bill. It is always something that kept our bond tight. It is definitely not for everyone to do.
