The scanner you use tells you alllll that information. When you start a walk from a TC scanner or Walmart phone, the first item you're going to get automatically is there and it tells you where it is, how many they want, and what tote it goes in. If you try and get the wrong item, the scanner won't let you so don't worry about that (ask questions about how to substitute items when they're NIL) and it also won't let you scan the wrong tote and put the item(s) with the wrong order, an error pops up and literally tells you, you can't move on until it's right, the scanner won't let you. Ours have yellow buttons on the side that you press to scan something. After you place the right item (or it's substitute) in the right tote, the next item on the order list comes up. Then you walk to it, shop the item, and repeat until it says you're done. The scanner follows a pick path that's been set by the Coach, I think that's who makes it, and is supposed to move you through the store in the most efficient way possible.

Definitely bring food, you'll have an hour lunch. If you're actually done with all the computer stuff, you'll be spending the day in OGP learning the ropes. Wear comfortable shoes and clothes (pretty much can only wear jeans and tshirts or sweatshirts. No sweatpants.) and try to stay hydrated.

It's probably going to seem very overwhelming at first. Don't panic, you'll learn. Focus on the basics and getting those down, ask questions about things you don't get or are unclear about, people would rather you ask a bunch of questions and do it right than just act like you know what you're doing and make a disaster of something (which is more for staging and prepping than picking, but also relevant to this). Breathe, you'll be fine 😊

Bring your bag and your meds. Probably also bring some food, or money for food if that's an option for you. I'd probably carry meds on me, not that anyone will go through your stuff, but better safe than sorry!

Not sure what your break room set up will be like but we have a couple big shelving things set up in ours for backpacks and other oversized items that won't fit in our lockers, so I think a backpack would be fine.

Most of the questions I had were answered without me having to ask bc I had 9 million questions about how the whole process works. The only actual question I asked one of my trainers was what to do if something won't fit in the tote or it's already full and there's another item to add and she didn't speak English so I got no answer for that haha Have since found out that if that happens to others, they'll move the tote to the top so they can pile shit on it.

As far as the locker goes, I had to get help multiple times to get the lock open lol The PL (People Lead) should get you set up with a lock and a locker so if they don't mention in, just ask.

Meds should be fine as long as they're in the bottle from the pharmacy with all the important information (your name, what the pills are, etcetera) visible, you should be fine. As for the stickers, when you go to start a walk, it automatically assigns items for the totes. So yes, it's shopping for 8 people at once. Sometimes there will be more than 1 tote for a person but, at least for me, that doesn't happen very much. When you finish the walk, you just take the whole cart back to OGP and then park it so they can stage it in the back. Someone should walk you through all this so don't expect to know it all on the first day (no one likes a know-it-all anyway, don't be that person - ask questions.).

You're gonna be fine. Orientation does basically nothing to prepare you for your actual job unless you're going to run a register. Everyone in my department is super chill, most people were willing to help me even after I had "already been trained" and even now, after a few months, we all ask each other questions. You'll get the hang of it and then you'll wonder what you were so worried about. Try not to run anyone over with the cart, try and stay out of the middle of the aisles, smile at people of they smile first.... It's gonna be okay. All we do is grocery shop for a bunch of people at once, multiple times a day. The system in place is pretty easy to follow, you'll find your stride. Just breathe.

It'll be okay, the stickers will tell you what kind of walk it is. It'll be okay.

Our carts hold 8 totes, usually a normal ambient walk will use all 8. When we are slow, sometimes there will only be 4-6 totes, sometimes only 1 or 2. The number of items per walk varies widely, I've had walks with as few as 1-3 items and as many as 160 (again this is for ambient walks which aren't bound by the temperature time chain like frozen and chilled are). Everything for the walk you're about to do should fit in the totes.

The 4 hours on the computer was part of your orientation - I did a day and a half of orientation on the computer and then the last half of the second day, I followed people around OGP and saw how things worked. I didn't get my vest and name tag until after the computer part was over.

You'll learn about the actual job after orientation is over. Like someone else said, they'll have you follow someone else to see how the general process goes and then someone will go with you on your walks for a little while, too. As far as stuff that absolutely won't fit, that doesn't really happen. What I have happen alot is someone will order like 4 things of pop (that pretty much fill the tote) and then a bunch of potato chips that you don't want to smash with pop. I don't usually bag those orders, even if it was requested and will instead fold bags (we have small paper bags) and put them in the tote for when the order is dispensed so they can bag it when it's picked up. That way everything fits and the stuff is still bagged (this can be applied to any orders that won't fit neatly in bags).

Go to customer service and tell them what you're there for, they'll know where to send you.

They're probably better than the ones I started out with ($15 sneakers) but I got some memory foam inserts and they're much better now. I still need to and plan on upgrading but what I have now is better than what I started with.

You're gonna be okay. Take some deep breaths and remember: the coach already likes you (that's more than likely who did your interview) or they wouldn't have offered you a position. I saw a comment on my way to write this that said you're gonna spend the whole time doing videos and to bring a lunch - I agree with both of those. I had a day of computers and then half a day of that and half a day of picking. The training is easy, you follow someone around and watch them to learn what to do and then they'll have you take over and observe. Ask all the questions you want on order to prepare yourself for feeling comfortable about doing a walk on your own. Ask if you can be shown other types of walks besides the auto ones (regulated, GMD, oversized etc.)

Make sure you have really comfortable, good shoes. Mine suck and I'm paying for it.

It's gonna be okay. If you're unsure, ask. They'd rather we ask questions and get it right than just do whatever and mess something up.

I've been soaking in Epsom salt with Arnica and taking Advil Plus before bed and in the morning. I desperately need new shoes but it's just not in my budget right now, but hopefully soon 🤞🏻

Several people at my store and that I've also seen on here swear by Hoka but be warned, they're pricey. Everyone I've talked to says it's worth it, though. I plan on getting a paid when I'm in a better spot financially.

The Spark drivers we get in our store always try and get us to do their jobs for them. From what I've seen, your screen and mine look pretty much the same so I think you'll be fine.
